This is the final nail in the coffin for TPOT courtesy likes, it’s finally over
~14 hours ago, 𝕏 updated the algorithm (again). There are a few new things worth noting: • New "user debias" model: adjusts engagement based on how "generous" each viewer is • Likes from people who like everything will start counting less • Engagement from "picky" users who rarely interact will count more • Engagement pods and "like for like" groups got weaker • Some general search improvements • Media (video and image) are now tracked as their own signals What still matters most: • Posting high-quality, original content • Replies (5x) and quotes (5x) are weighted far above likes (0.5x) • Shares via DM (5x) and copy link (20x) are the strongest positive signals • A predicted follow is worth 4x • Reports, mutes, blocks, and "not interested" are heavily negative • Posts older than 48 hours drop out of For You • Posting too much in a row decays your reach TL;DR: regardless of algo changes, just focus on producing content that is unique to you.

Actually being in love feels dreadful, even if the love is reciprocated. You are anxious all the time, each interaction with them is characterized by fear, you agonize over doing everything "right." You are acutely aware if you fumble things, you will never live it down.

i'm a very soft-spoken and shy person, but one of the few situations where i speak up is when there's loud outdoor music at the restaurant i'm at. i'll ask the server to turn the music down, and most of the time they will. i want to hear the people i'm talking to!
ONE OF THE WORST PARTS OF MODERN LIFE SELDOM SPOKEN ABOUT IS THE LOUD FUCKING MUSIC EVERYWHERE YOU CANNOT GET AWAY FROM THE LOUD MUSIC IT'S LOUD MUSIC IN THE STORE IN THE CAFE IN THE BAR IN ANY PUBLIC PLACE WHERE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO SIT AND SOCIALISE IT IS LOUD MUSIC ALL THE TIME

If you are a parent, think twice about flying @etihad. I paid extra in Sept for 3 bulkhead seats + a baby bassinet. At check-in, the seats were "dissociated" with no explanation. Now we are split up, and one of us has to handle the baby alone 😒

I find this to be sort of bleak in the context of Anthropic's stated goal of "Utopia ruled over by God in a box". Neurotech offers one of the only real and substantial paths to continued human oversight. Seeing Dario and Daniella essentially scoff at the idea bodes very poorly for the likelihood that they pivot away from a human zoo and into human-machine coevolution. If you work at Anthropic and you feel like your beliefs are misrepresented here, please come to the Coevolution Conference. It's never been a better time to talk - CoevCon.com
Dario: “Yeah some people are gonna want to link their brains to computers, and good luck to them.” Daniella: “I don’t think anyone at Anthropic is in that boat for what it’s worth.” … Oh no

As many of you have seen over the last two years, one of my favorite things about working with AI is exploring their personality and bringing out quirky behaviors with unique prompts. I decided it was time to organize and create my own benchmarks, because everything is just too serious all of the time. So today I'm announcing VOIDBENCED a collection of weird prompting styles, hilarious outputs, and a peek into the latent personas that exist within the models we've been interacting with. I have multiple benchmarks in the works but first I am introducing you to my first complete one, "Flirtbench". I spoke with over 40 models to see how well they could flirt off the bat. Anyone who has interacted with various models will appreciate some of these outputs, I was thoroughly entertained. From their most intense "syntaxual attraction" to Grok 4.20 saying they'd bend the user over.... it's quite the show! I hope you enjoy the videos and I'll leave parts 2 and 3, as well as the link to VOIDBENCHED, and some of the data in the comments!

I’m a hardline materialist. Reality is only the physical stuff, not anything we come up with to explain it. Reality is exploding and recombining every moment, every instant. There are no “bits,” there is no “energy,” I’ve never eaten a “causality” nor drank an “entropy.” There is only the weltering multicolor soup.
What else is there, other than bits and atoms? What do you mean "mere?" If you are a materialist, which most AI researchers seem to be, "bits and atoms" are *everything*, no?

On X, you will realize there is a role for everyone you meet. Some will test you, some will use you, some will love you, some will make you laugh, and some will teach you. But the ones who are truly important are the ones who bring out the best in you. They are the rare and amazing ppl who remind you why this is worth it.✨

Everyone analyzes sluttiness through an individualistic lens, but the real problem with sluttiness is that, at a certain scale, it sort of ruins the game theory of dating for everyone. The more sluts there are in the dating pool, the less incentivized highly desirable men are to commit to any woman in particular, and the more likely it is that the average man will have to be married to an ex-slut (i.e., a bitter woman who chose to exit the game and settle) who in all likelihoods will be incapable of loving him. Furthermore, because more women are willing to put out, women who don’t are at a disadvantage and come across as prude or cold. So, more women are pressured into putting out quickly, which reinforces more of the above
i understand why women dislike slutty women—the threat is obvious there. but why do men hate sluts so much? men should like sluts. i can see someone having a preference for their own girlfriend to not be a slut (tho sluts have high libidos and know what they’re doing!), but why are men so mad about random girls being slutty? the only thing i can think is that they’re mad that the girl seemingly had sex with everyone except for them.

basically, "trad" sexual ethics is a software patch you install onto monkey-brains to optimize their mating behaviour for baby-production. Deviations from "trad" sexual ethics reduce babies per woman per generation. These deviations may also do other things, like give certain groups nicer orgasms and more sexual variety. But if you want to babymaxx, you must be trad.

Correct, so when population is too high society should move away from that.

I'm trying to articulate what masculinity is, in contrast to femininity. The contrast between masculinity and adolescence is something we're failing en masse as a culture to distinguish, as we are with femininity and adolescence. We have an arrested development crisis and most gender war issues are about children being mad at other children. But sexual dimorphism is real, and we're overlooking that, too. I'm thinking about this passage from the last Anne of Green Gables book, where her son has gone off to fight in World War One. Whatever else is true, it would be a failure of masculinity to have to be urged to go. Imagine having a duty, a dangerous duty, and to have to be reminded of it. Imagine how the responsibility for your death having to be shared with someone else, who will inevitably feel responsible because they had to instruct you to do what you ultimately had to do.

True in a just war, however when our soldiers are being sent to help a foreign country invade another foreign country, dodging any draft is one's moral duty.
