the problem with “personalized” medicine is that it often adapts the treatment to the person, while still aiming for targets defined by the population. after almost two years trying to understand what’s happening to my thyroid, i realized i may have been asking the wrong question: not “what works, on average?” but “what works for me?” that led me to n=1 experiments, and to how hard it actually is to run them well higherstate.substack.com/p/n…

shared so many moments, experiments, events, late nights and memories with the Talent Protocol team over the years very grateful our paths crossed, and proud to have been a small part of the journey @0xmacedo, @pcbo, @leal, @tolga and team what a ride. i'm sure these years taught you a lot, and even more sure you'll be up to something great next you'll never build alone 🫡
@iptsai has acquired Talent Protocol, with support from @protocollabs. Builder Score is becoming a public good. Interplanetary Talent Services (IPTS) will receive part of our reputation data to match builders with roles across AI, crypto, hardware, life sciences and other frontier technologies. The Builder Score will live on as a public good, running locally in the browser, and using public data from GitHub and 4 blockchains. Every calculation can be verified and builders can publish their scores as attestations on @base. Together, they carry 5 years of work forward: → 6.6 million builder profiles and 86 million events indexed → More than $600,000 distributed through Builder Rewards → 116 builders from more than 15 countries supported through Talent House Talent Protocol will conclude commercial operations. The API, Talent+ and social channels will close at the end of August. The team is not joining IPTS or Protocol Labs, and $TALENT was not part of the acquisition. A deep thank you to every builder, team member, investor, partner and advisor who helped us build Talent Protocol. Read the full story and the Protocol Labs announcement in the replies. ⤵️

i haven't been reading a single line of code for months now i focus on clearly defining what needs to be built: writing user stories, producing context files for agents, and defining acceptance criteria then I review the output against those criteria, test that it does what it's supposed to do (lately i've started to automate this part as well), and iterate from there curious how many others are already working this way

farcaster is where i leveled up the most in the past 4 years. where i found incredible people: builders, creators and founders from all walks of life learnt a lot, built a lot, failed a lot, made some of my closest friends and somehow found myself surrounded by people who kept pushing me to think bigger and build better grateful for this weird little corner of the internet and everyone i crossed paths with along the way long live @farcaster_xyz 🙏🏻
update on @farcaster_xyz, @clanker_world and @neynarxyz we’ve started a process to look for a new home / team to run the products going forward. earlier this year, this seemed to be a good fit for our team: it was a developer-first network, and we'd been serving developers from the start. There’s been a lot of change since then and we’re not the right fit for what’s needed next. talking to a few teams we think could be a good fit for running decentralized social apps and related developer products. If you’ve thoughts / are interested, reach out. our company will return its balance sheet (most of it remains) and team members will move on to something new. this is not a decision we made lightly. I’m optimistic that with this next iteration, Farcaster will find its long term fit. it’s loved enough that it’s unlikely to simply perish - thanks to all of you, and lindy-ness.

building an mvp in health tech is a whole different world i used to ship, measure, iterate in days - one fast loop, tight feedback, move on now i'm running two: 1) product / interface -> days, weeks 2) protocol / body -> months you can't sync them, and you don't set the pace of the second one the part nobody tells you: before we say anything to a user, that a marker is high, that something will help them, we have to ask ourselves what's behind it and if and how we should share that information that question kills more ideas than any technical constraint "minimum" starts much higher than i expected. a rough consumer app looks scrappy. a rough health app is scary as nobody messages you to say they don't trust you - they just leave is there anyone here with experience in health tech willing to share their way around this?

since i left crypto: - HRV up 35ms (+52%) - RHR down 9bpm (-19%) *30-day averages coincidence?
There's been times when I couldn't stop: > eating > scrolling > working > watching > wherever It feels awful. A miserable existence. Our society is a predator prey relationship. Companies make money and become rich when they convince us to do things that we can't stop. This is a guide to fight back. My resting heart rate is my Sovereignty Index. It measures whether I am a slave or sovereign relative to the powers around me world. Whether I’m ruled by my impulses or the ruler over them. This past month, my RHR has averaged 41 bpm. It’s my best ever 30 day average. It’s less about the absolute number and more about what it represents. A low RHR is a clinical proxy for high vagal tone which is the metric of parasympathetic dominance and physiological self regulation. It’s taken me years to master the daily habits that enable this. A low resting heart rate before sleep is magic: > better sleep > stronger recovery > improved will power > clear headedness > happier life I speak about RHR because it’s the single number that captures modern society. Everything “normal” today increases a person’s heart rate before sleep. It’s slavery camouflaged as ambition, relaxing, and “living life”. 24/7 work, eating before bed, scrolling, binge watching, vaping, late night debauchery, red eye flights…People mistakenly confuse these things as being admirable and a rite of passage. Don’t be fooled by this. This is a cultural mistake that will be corrected in time. The coming years will look back and see the foolishness of it. Most of you reading this are in a state of chronic sympathetic overdrive, burnout, anxiety and depression. That's the state of society today. 88% of Americans are metabolically unwell. Sometimes though, that's because you have a new born, are caring for an aging parent, are fighting a health problem, or are in some other challenging situation. I remember feeling helpless with three children under 6. For those of you in a tough spot, I feel you. For those of you who have the freedom to make decisions, this is for you. And for those of you in the tough spots, maybe these things can be helpful for you too. Master these habits and everything in your life will be better: > final food four hours before bed > screens off 60 min before bed > same bedtime every night > a wind down routine: reading, walking, hobby > final caffeine by noon > red and amber lights in pm, no blues It's the end of the day that get's most people. It's when your will power is lowest and stress is the highest. We reach for things that soothe but they end up causing us self harm. The habits outlined above are designed to be a check against the version of you that is stressed out and overwhelmed, and not in the best state of mind to make good decisions. Deciding on what you will do before that version of you take charge may help you wrestle the upper hand to start living the life you want.

Now accepting applications from positive-sum, supportive ecosystems worthy of adopting my incredibly talented BGBs (builders, creators, community evangelists…) they’re distributed across the world and come in various stages of evolution. they’re currently looking for a home where they can thrive alongside the ecosystem they help build. sharing the video below as a small glimpse of what they’re capable of when given the opportunity. this video was created by @jitzlim back in 2024. dms are open. thanks! 🙏

Yesterday at Urbe Hub we spent a full day on one question: will the AI that matters stay in the hands of a few, or can it be accessible to everyone? We came at it from two sides. Afternoon, hands-on: the @tether team ran a workshop on @qvac , their solution for running open-source models locally, without giving up privacy or control. Evening, zoomed out: talks and a panel on open source vs proprietary frontier models. Chinese open models closing the gap, chips and compute turning geopolitical, European sovereignty, safety, and who gets access to what. Then the terrace, aperitivo and talk till late. Not even 35°C stopped the conversations. Thanks to @tether and QVAC, the EF dAI team @DavideCrapis, and @_pieroit_ for joining the panel. And to everyone who stayed for the last question. At Urbe Hub, these conversations are always on the table 🐺

Bryan Johnson drinks 3 shots of extra virgin olive oil every single day. He calls it the "superfood of superfoods." His protocol is simple: • 15 mL before each meal • 45 mL per day • Around 15% of his daily calories come from olive oil The science is one reason it has stayed in his protocol. Extra virgin olive oil is rich in polyphenols and monounsaturated fats, both of which have been linked to better cardiovascular health, lower inflammation, improved metabolic health, and healthy aging. Large human studies have consistently associated higher intake of high quality extra virgin olive oil with lower rates of heart disease and reduced overall mortality. Johnson spends millions searching for ways to slow aging. Extra virgin olive oil is one of the simplest habits that has survived every update to his protocol:

The urbe.eth Manifesto 2.0 📜 Urbe.eth is a community of builders and a non-profit association, formally established in Rome in April 2023. It started in Rome around a simple idea: people interested in Ethereum and emerging technologies need places where they can meet, learn, build, and collaborate together. Over the years, that idea became a real community. Today urbe.eth brings together developers, founders, researchers, designers, lawyers, students, and technology enthusiasts who share a common curiosity: understanding how technology is transforming society and helping shape that transformation for the better. Ethereum remains at the center of our story. It introduced many of us to ideas such as decentralization, self-sovereignty, and programmable coordination. But the questions that brought us together have grown larger than any single technology. Today, we are equally interested in the broader ecosystem of technologies redefining how humans create, communicate, and organize: open-source artificial intelligence, cryptography, decentralized systems, and other frontier technologies that expand human capabilities while preserving individual freedom. In February 2025, the community found a physical home in the Urbe Hub in Testaccio, Rome, the first space in Italy dedicated to frontier technologies and open technological research.

.@builders_garden is winding down, and I’m stepping away from building full-time in crypto to start a new chapter in health tech 🥲 the past 4 years were insane i built products, communities, events, games, miniapps, agents, weird experiments, and learned more than I could have imagined some, if not most, of it the hard way one big lesson: team size without a clear strategy and predictable income is dangerous. at some point you’re not building anymore, you’re just feeding the machine. another one: we overfitted on external momentum. @base and @farcaster_xyz gave us a lot, and I’m grateful for both. but when your strategy depends too much on ecosystems you don’t control, every incentive shift, budget cut, or attention shift hits hard. the biggest lesson: the limbo never worked ❌ Builders Garden was never fully an agency, focused on clients, delivery, and margins. but it was never fully a product studio either, going all-in on a few internal bets with full conviction trying to be both made us less sharp at either. still, I wouldn’t trade these years for anything ❤️ @builders_garden, @urbeEth, @ETHRome, and our Ethereum hub in Rome shaped me more than any job ever could now I’m onto a new chapter: co-founder & CTO at Omea.io we’re building health tech that turns blood tests, wearables, clinical history, and habits into actionable protocols for prevention and longevity this one is personal too, born from my own health journey and the need to build something that solves a real problem in my life and for people around me. one last thing: I moved to Lisbon 🇵🇹
End of an era: Builders Garden is winding down 🌳 Grateful for all the support, trust and love over the years. We built apps, miniapps, agents, games, weird experiments and prototypes, always making things fun first. Some worked, many failed, all taught us something.
