Celebrating a Remarkable Milestone: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Marks 25 Years of Distinguished Public Leadership.
Today, I join the people of India and friends around the world in celebrating a truly significant milestone in the public service of my dear friend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi - 25 years of continuous service as a Head of Government, spanning leadership at both the state and national levels.
On 7th October 2001, Prime Minister Modi began his journey as Chief Minister of Gujarat, serving in that office until 2014. In May 2014, he assumed office as Prime Minister of India and has continued to serve the people of his great nation through three consecutive terms.
This 25-year milestone represents a significant chapter in his long public service, spanning leadership at both the state and national levels.
Trinidad and Tobago and India share deep and enduring bonds of friendship, history, culture and kinship. These ties have been strengthened over generations and continue to grow through cooperation and mutual respect.
I especially thank Prime Minister Modi for his friendship and for the generous assistance and support that his Government and the people of India have extended to Trinidad and Tobago. We deeply value Indiaโs partnership and its continued commitment to our nationโs development.
It was also my great pleasure to welcome Prime Minister Modi to Trinidad and Tobago last year, further strengthening the friendship between our two nations and peoples.
