Hey, nice to meet you! I'm Lou and thanks to this community I went from student to web developer, speaker, and teacher within 3 years.

Here is my free ebook on Node.js security:
Step 1. Dont use Node.js
Gifting a Node.js security book to a champion Java developer @MaritvanDijk77 is the ultimate troll and most proper friendly gift I can think of 😅❤️
Enjoy it Marit!

I'm lowkey thinking about hosting a small private English speaking club (online)
Actually been thinking about it for a while
Would any of my fellow Japanese be interested? Or any English learners? 👀

One of my mentees, Raissa, has started writing blog posts about what she’s learning with C#, with the goal of becoming a C# developer.
If you’re just starting out with C# (or simply curious), you should definitely check out her 'Hello World' post 👇

Finally booked hotels for my Tokyo/Kyoto trip 🇯🇵
Any tips on what (and what not) to do there?

Stationary stores if that's your thing. Those shops also have the best souvenirs.
Buy a physical suica card since they're removing the pinguin mascot next year. Don't forget an ekiben if you travel to Kyoto by the Shinkansen.
I would skip the Kokyo tour in Tokyo, do go to the Meji temple in the early morning.
Try to stay away from Pokemon Centers of Nintendo stores on weekends. You can sometimes get a Pokemon Cafe spot last minute if that's your thing and if you have time.
If you have any other questions, I have about 5k other recommendations.

What are your thoughts on Blazor for web development? How does it compare to traditional JavaScript frameworks?

Blazor is super flexible and very rich with great features. I use it in a variety of large applications today as I prefer to use C# and .NET everywhere.
Like anything there are lots of choices and different frameworks are great for different use cases.

I love reading physical books.
I have a Kindle, but I always buy physical ones. I like the feel of the paper. The smell. The idea.
So I’m unnecessarily excited about this collection from George Orwell.

Last week, I had a coffee chat with @wottavm aka Router :P
It was fun finally speaking F2F instead of just yapping in the discord. He shared some great stories: fun, inspiring and with some really good tips for my job hunt!
