South Africa
PUBLIC STATEMENT On the 19th of August, I made a bold and personal decision to join fellow young people in a new organisation called @nextgengovparty (NGG), led by @kwanda_summers . I come from the MKP ground forces, and I want to make this clear from the beginning: my decision to leave MKP is not because I have lost trust in its leadership, nor because I believe there is anything wrong with the organisation. MKP remains a significant and influential force in South African politics. I deeply respect the role it continues to play and the political consciousness it has helped awaken among many South Africans. My time serving in the MKP ground forces gave me valuable lessons in discipline, commitment, loyalty, and the importance of standing firm for the interests of ordinary people, especially the working class and young South Africans. Those lessons will always remain part of my journey and shape the person I am today. However, at this stage of my life, I felt a strong calling to join young leaders under the banner of Next Generation Government. I believe young people must not only wait for opportunities to lead we must also create and occupy spaces where we can contribute, develop solutions, and actively shape the future of our country. NGG represents a vision of “a just, inclusive and empowered South Africa led by a new generation committed to real freedom, where young people and all citizens can fully participate in the economic, social, cultural, and political life of the nation.” This vision speaks to the challenges and frustrations many young South Africans experience today. For too long, young people have been told to wait their turn. NGG believes that the youth are ready to take responsibility and contribute to leadership now, while still respecting the wisdom and experience of previous generations. The mission to organise, empower, and mobilise young people and communities that have been left behind resonates deeply with me. It is about advancing political participation, economic opportunity, social dignity, ethical leadership, and accountable governance. I joined NEXT GENERATION GOVERNMENT because I want to be part of building that future. I want to contribute to a movement that focuses on practical solutions to the challenges facing our nation — including education, youth unemployment, economic growth, crime and safety, technology, healthcare, environmental protection, fighting corruption, addressing gender-based violence, and supporting entrepreneurship. These are the realities affecting millions of young South Africans every day. The time has come to transform frustration into organised action, ideas into policies, and hope into meaningful change. My decision is not a rejection of my past or where I come from. It is a step forward into a new chapter of growth, responsibility, and youth leadership. I remain grateful for the foundation and experiences I gained in MKP, and I carry those lessons with pride as I begin this new journey with the young leaders of Next Generation Government. I am excited about what lies ahead. Together with other young South Africans, we will organise, work hard, and contribute towards building the South Africa we want to see. Young People Will Govern. #NGG #YoungPeopleWillGovern #NextGenerationGovernment @GovernmentZA @ParliamentofRSA @kwanda_summers @IECSouthAfrica

A Constitution cannot be a tool to silence the very people it was created to represent. A Constitution exists to protect the rights, freedoms, dignity and voices of the people not to shut them down when they question, disagree or demand accountability. We must never allow constitutional principles to be used as a shield against legitimate public participation and criticism. The people must remain at the centre of the Constitution, because ultimately, the Constitution serves the people not the other way around. @GovernmentZA @PresidencyZA @ParliamentofRSA @MkhontoweSizwex @MagaselaMzobe @MzwaneleManyi @tyengeni1954 @AdvBMkhwebane @azania1023

The youth of 1976 would be so ashamed of us. 😭🤞🏾 They would be embarrassed looking at us today and seeing what we have allowed to happen in South Africa. They stood up, sacrificed, and confronted injustice because they believed the future belonged to them. Yet here we are, tolerating so much nonsense, remaining silent, and watching our country struggle while too many of us simply accept it as normal. We owe it to the youth of 1976 and to the generations coming after us to do better. 🇿🇦✊🏾 We cannot keep normalising what should never be normal. @GovernmentZA @PresidencyZA @ParliamentofRSA @MkhontoweSizwex @MagaselaMzobe @MzwaneleManyi @tyengeni1954 @AdvBMkhwebane @azania1023

A migrant lady says, "nexti genelation of South Africans will be foreigners whether you like it or not; we are ending your tribes." I like that some of them don't hide their intention. Meanwhile, the naive Hippo and fighters think this is about about @JacintaNgobese .

We owe it to South Africa and future generations to defend the institutions that protect our democracy. Among the most important is the judiciary the guardian of the Constitution, citizens’ rights, and justice without fear or favour. Public trust in the justice system depends on transparency, independence, and accountability. Those entrusted with judicial power must be selected through fair processes based on integrity, qualifications, and a commitment to the law. As citizens, we have a responsibility to ask difficult questions and ensure that no individual, political party, or institution stands above the Constitution. Protecting democracy means protecting independent institutions, defending the rule of law, and ensuring that justice remains equal for everyone. @CyrilRamaphosa @PresidencyZA @ParliamentofRSA @PublicProtector @nextgengovparty @MkhontoweSizwex
