Task Block
The Task sidebar has been updated and looks more like a fully built out task manager. Tasks are still auto-shared with your team and the "All Tasks" view will show you and your teammates' tasks. The "Created by Me" view is where you can check up on what work you have assigned to others.
Tags can now quickly be added or modified straight from the sidebar to keep track of progress on large projects. Tagging is still Macro's default way to categorize tasks into filterable views.

Drive Block
The File Block is now called Drive. Instead of a singular list of docs/attachments, Drive is now a normal file explorer. People who are familiar with Google Drive will find this new sidebar style much more intuitive. The flow is now: create a folder in the sidebar -> create subfolders -> add any and all files.

Chat Block
Chat has been restyled to be split into channels and dm's instead of the singular list from before. For people who prefer iMessage style notifications, you still have the option to view things by recency in the Chat sidebar. Separating them makes it quicker to send a dm to a particular person or find a specific project channel.
You can also pin favorites to the top of the sidebar for easy access to the people or channels you use the most. Soon, you will also be able to group channels together to further organize your communication by project, team, etc.

If you've been in Macro recently, you'll notice we've made some major UI changes to make Macro more similar/familiar to the products you already use (ChatGPT, Finder, Google Calendar etc).
We think it's simpler for new users and faster for power users, while keeping all of the same functionality. Each Block's inner sidebar now exposes more options and filters that used to be hidden in dropdown menus.

Home Block
The Home Block is now be the main interface you'll use to interact with Macro. It functions similarly to any other chat UI, ask Macro to create tasks, summarize your emails, create todo lists. Below the chat box is a list of recommendations for things you need to do pulled from your entire workspace.
Notifications in the sidebar now appear as a list of what's happening at your company. It's organized chronologically and meant to be the first place you check for updates. Completed agents you had running over night will appear here as well as messages, emails, recently edited documents, or any other notification type.

Today we're launching Macro Calendar, an AI-native calendar that works with your existing Google Cal.
1. Agents can create and edit events, either from the AI chat UI or from internal channels by mentioning agents,
e.g. from a thread in #engineers "@-macro please create a call later today to discuss this".
2. See all your Google calendar accounts in one calendar instead of switching between them.
3. Copy your availability as plaintext with one click. Today, next 7 days, or next month.
Like everything in Macro, calendar entities have bidirectional linking. You can @-mention an event in a doc or message and both know about each other.

Today we are launching v0.0.1 of Macro's SDK 🚀
Macro is already open source, but until now, there wasn't a great way to build on top of it without forking or pushing to main.
Now there is: the SDK let's you customize Macro to how your startup works, build apps around Macro, make CLI tools, invoke agents, and much more.

Macro is now officially integrated with Claude and available in the Claude plugin directory.
We've had our MCP for a few months, but before launching in the Claude marketplace, we wanted to extend our MCP coverage to most of our API surface.
You can now do most things through AI that you can do in the Macro interface. Many users have told us they primarily use Macro headless.
There are still a few things and settings unavailable in the MCP that need to be done in the interface but our goal is to have 100% coverage soon.

Today we're launching Macro Tags: a unified organizational system for your startup.
Every startup eventually develops the same problem: information gets scattered across email, Slack, docs, Drive, Linear, Notion, and a dozen other places.
We tried everything: Notion databases, Drive folders, Linear Initiatives, QRT-based Slack channels...
...and our startup still felt more scattered and disorganized than we'd like, especially as we scaled.
What we wanted was a single system to organize our company.
Enter, Macro tags...⚡️
You (or your agents) can apply the same tags to emails, docs, tasks, files, and messages, then filter and search across everything.
Our most used tag right now is #user_feedback. It let's us see and rank feedback across all channels:
- Emails to our support email
- Messages with users
- Docs and call notes with customers
- Tasks handling customer feedback
- Github PR's

- Should we have personal or team tags or just team? BOTH, we decided to do both even though in our dogfooding we mostly used team tags. The difference is that when you add a personal tag to a shared document only you can see that tag. The downside of personal tags is mostly the footgun that happens when you meant to add a team tag and fatfingered personal (this is why we made "team" the first item in the list).

- Should tags be how your organize Tasks, or Folders, or do we also need some kind of Task-specific organization system e.g. Linear's cycles or Initiatives?
The answer right now is that you can apply tags to tasks and we do this extensively to mark which area of the product our tasks relate to.
You can also put tasks in Folders, because Macro folders are multi-modal just like tags. They can hold emails, docs, etc.
Very soon, based on your user feedback that this is insufficient for your engineering needs, we will be adding "projects" (or equivalent) grouping for tasks that is a bit more purpose-built.
