I’ve been thinking about @davemorin’s observation a lot this weekend. Since we launched @itsdazzleai, I’ve been making the case that your camera roll is a better basis for personal assistant work than email is. While getting access to both email and photos would be great, if I get one, I want photos. Part of it is that we can get a sense of your taste and part of it is that *you* decide what you take pictures of so you decide what’s in your camera roll. It’s *your* to-do list, not someone else’s for you. Dazzle puts you in charge and lets us anticipate what you need and what you like. Try it at dazzle.ai/app
There's an insidious new type of slop happening at work. Email used to just be other people's todo list for your life. Now the people you work with are driven by their AI agents, which often lack the context to know what matters for them, let alone for you. So they ask you for things as if they were priorities. It feels off because it is: Email is now other people's agent's todo list for your life. This is going to take some work to fix.

does it also pick up on screenshots? sometimes i screenshot a recipe, other times it’s a person’s contact info, sometimes i even screenshot Ig posts - and all of these give cues about my todo, my intentions and my focus around a time in my life

We do screenshots and photos (they are both super useful!).

Big fan of Google Photos and one of the most underrated features, i feel, has been its ability to parse, index camera roll into documents, screen grabs etc. so effectively.

Google Photos is great but it's not the same as having an AI agent monitoring your camera roll and figuring out how to turn photos into actions and getting those actions done for you.

Most camera rolls are full of licenses, insurance cards and receipts. That's not a taste profile, it's a hacker's starter kit.

Any photos that seem sensitive/have PII, we disregard and delete. You don’t want them on our servers and neither do we. We throw away 1-2% of photos (when in doubt, we leave it out) and Dazzle (@itsdazzleai) can still do a great job.

A camera roll is great context, and it's also the most private thing on the phone. I think the trust question is less about what the agent can see and more about what it can act on. Looking is low risk, sending or deleting on your behalf is where I'd want a hard stop.

We don't delete any photos from your camera roll, nor do we send them. Any actions we take we ask for permission first. Everyone is different, but my email is more private and sensitive than photos (but I would probably still give both to an agent (@itsdazzleai!) if it could help me make more of time).

I didn’t believe my photos had any important context but when I checked I found 4 things I intended to do but didn’t stuck in my camera roll. All nice to do things nothing critical, those get emailed to me.

The privacy policy is fun, especially given all the hacking going on these days and if you give your photos to @itsdazzleai you're taking on the risk "However, no digital service is 100% secure. You acknowledge that you use the Dazzle AI app and agents at your own risk."
