๐Ÿ’™ Today, marks the fifth anniversary of Walter Smith OBEโ€™s passing. Remembering the greatest Rangers Manager of the modern era, who won 21 major honours over two spells. My thoughts are with Ethel, Neil, Steven and their families. #AlwaysRemembered x.com/RangersFC/status/17612โ€ฆ

Paul Gascoigne on Brian Laudrup, one of the best players he ever shared a pitch with. Gazza: "Brian Laudrup was an amazing player. Even in training if you knew exactly what Brian was about to do, you could never stop him." "I played with him at Rangers and in his prime he was one of the best players in the world. He glided with the ball in a way that made him virtually untouchable for opponents and he was a match-winner, who had great technique when striking the ball. He was also a great entertainer - on and off the pitch! A tremendous natural talent." Legends ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘

When Duncan Ferguson was growing up in Stirling, his dad was the man he looked up to more than anybody else. Big Duncan Ferguson Sr. was an old-school working man who spent years on oil rigs, walking along steel girders hundreds of feet in the air without a safety harness. It was dangerous work, but his dad was not somebody who frightened easily. He had worked security on pub doors from the age of 18 and could look after himself when trouble came his way. And when Dunc started playing football as a young boy, his dad was always there watching him. Opposition supporters would sometimes shout abuse from the touchline, telling their players to break his legs. His dad would go straight over and confront them, even if there were ten of them standing together. Dunc grew up wanting to be just like him. But there was something else his dad had done for him that mattered far more than anything on a football pitch. When Dunc was five years old, he became seriously ill with a fever at their home in Stirling. He started choking, suffered a seizure and could no longer breathe properly. His dad had returned home from working on the rigs and rushed to his bedside. He managed to get his hand into Duncโ€™s mouth to clear his airway, with his young son biting down on his knuckles as he tried to help him. Without his dad being there, Dunc believes he would have choked to death. โ€œIโ€™m glad you were there, Dad.โ€ The two of them were always close when Dunc was younger, although his dad was never particularly affectionate. He was the sort of man who showed how much he cared through what he did rather than what he said. And despite everything his dad had done for him, there was one thing Dunc had never heard him say. That he loved him. Dunc knew his dad was proud of him. Even years after he had finished playing, his dad would sit at home watching old videos of his son scoring goals for Everton. He would spend hours talking about Dunc to his friends, telling them about everything he had achieved in football. But he had never actually told his son he loved him. And as Dunc got older, their relationship became more complicated. They started arguing more often and gradually drifted apart. For ten years, Dunc barely had any contact with his mum and dad. He tried ringing home repeatedly during the first two or three years, but things never really improved. And the longer it went on, the more Dunc started questioning himself. He wondered whether he had been a bad son and whether he should have made more effort to spend time with them. This was the man who had taken him everywhere as a child, protected him at football matches and saved his life when he was five. Now they were hardly speaking. But as his dad got older, things eventually began to change. After years of trying to make contact, Dunc finally got through to him on the phone. โ€œHiya Dad, howโ€™s things? Are you all right?โ€ โ€œAll right, son.โ€ And not long afterwards, Dunc travelled back up to Stirling to see his parents. It was an emotional reunion after a decade apart. Dunc finally got the chance to tell his mum and dad how much he loved them. And although his dad still wasnโ€™t the sort of man who expressed his feelings openly, Dunc never doubted how much he cared. By then, Dunc had become a father himself. He had three children, Evie, Ross and Cameron, and there was one thing he had decided he would do differently. He would tell them he loved them every single day. He would hug them, kiss them and make sure they always knew how he felt about them. Because even though his own dad had never once said those words to him, Dunc knew exactly what they meant. โ€œObviously he does love me, he just never says it.โ€ #football

Today we remember #Rangers #CyrilSmith #QGM โ˜˜๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง killed by a #PIRA bomb in Newry on the 24th October 1990. On that day, 4 Platoon, B Company, #2ndBattalion The #RoyalIrishRangers were manning the Permanent Vehicle Checkpoint at #Cloghoge Mountain situated on the A1 to the south of #Newry. At 0409 hours, a yellow van pulled up at the checkpoint, and the driver leapt from the van shouting 'There's a bomb'. Ranger Cyril John Smith, who was the duty 'road man', led the driver to safety while alerting the other soldiers who were manning the checkpoint. Certain that the driver was safe, Ranger Smith ran back to the centre of the checkpoint despite being told not to go. He set off shouting,'I have to go back and make sure the rest of the boys are safe'. As #RangerSmith again ran past the van, the #bomb #exploded, killing him instantly. Ranger Smith acted without regard for his own safety, thinking only of saving the lives of his fellow Rangers. For this action, he was, on 5th November 1991, posthumously awarded the #QueensGallantryMedal in recognition of his bravery. The entry in the Supplement to the London Gazette, 5th November 1991, stated: The QUEEN has been graciously pleased to approve the posthumous award of the Queen's Gallantry Medal to the undermentioned in recognition of gallantry in #NorthernIreland: Queen's Gallantry Medal Q.G.M. MINISTRY OF DEFENCE (ARMY DEPARTMENT) 24794602 Ranger Cyril John SMITH, The Royal Irish Rangers (27th (Inniskilling) 83rd and 87th). The unity of purpose and strength of unionism tonight was clear for all to see. Iโ€™m proud to have played a small part. But everyone has a part to play. Letโ€™s build a movement together to continue the fight. The days of weakness, pandering and appeasement are over.

๐Ÿšจ SEEKOR PUMA MEMBUNUH SERIGALA. TAPI DIA LUPA SATU HAL: SERIGALA PUNYA KAWANAN. ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ’€ Awalnya kelihatan kayak dokumenter National Geographic. Seekor puma menyerang serigala sendirian di tengah salju. Si serigala tumbang. Puma pergi seolah urusannya udah selesai. EH, TERNYATA BELUM. ๐Ÿ˜ญ Sekawanan serigala kemudian muncul, melacak si puma, dan mengepungnya. Plot twist-nya berasa film John Wick versi kerajaan hewan. TAPI NETIZEN SERING LUPA CEK FAKTA. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’€ x.com/sessizistila58/status/โ€ฆ
