I work in tech. I can tell you AI isn’t taking my job for years. It’s not ready. It has made my job much easier in some respects and sometimes it makes me spend more time than I want to. Like anything else, it’s a learning process. Some people can take the change, some can’t. I don’t like the surviellance aspect of it. Recording every call and keystroke, but it is what it is. Where I think tech is weak is in marketing. The bundling of AI with tech (x is doing a fantastic job at this). The marketing of AI is really lacking. There’s so much potential. Just my two cents.

Agreed. AI will wipe out the entire company you work for.

Big facts. I’ve know more than I’d liked to know about tech debt and change management.

truth. You will lose your job if you don't use AI there for level 1. You will then lose your job as new competitors blast past you at level 2. At level 3 the new companies do not hire for new jobs as they are AI native. We are at 1.3 rn.

wiser words have never been said; imagine all the boomers thinking they can sell their companies into retirement & no one will buy their tech debt. But, guess what, government will step up & kick next generation's teeth in with regulations to keep the market's status quo running

It's always weird to hear oldwr people in tech telling everyone that the only ppl that will ever win are only kids. Venture capital to ppl like this guy. While they are "old" themselves, its alway other "old" ppl that won't make and evey 18 yr old is a genius. Until they turn that magic "old" age right?

I finished your sentence. 100% agreed. Isn’t it totally insane how many people are in “business” and they have no clue how to think like a business. It’s insane. Very rare I’d say maybe 1% of anyone running a business has the capacity or natural ability to understand this. They are literally doing it for the money which the worst reason to do it. Thats why they have to take classes on how to act or treat their customers. It’s about time these companies became obsolete. The plan is to allow this to happen and let people suffer enough so they welcome in the new era. ✨💃🏻

This is very well said. AI won't replace jobs, it will replace entire companies.

i agree with the tech debt. but those "teenagers" wont have their own company bc they will depend on AI, depend on a bigger corporation. that is not ownership. givven AI companies survive the next few years. it doesnt look like they will.

My old company is a massive specialty contractor in California who are really struggling with ancient software and procedures . The sad part about this is all the biggest general contractors in America have the same problems.

Agree, have an incompetent CEO hiring and firing people like he’s Steve Jobs without the vision and strategy. Just throwing tantrums that ai want AI like Claude to do everything

💯% correct re: large global corporations with thousands of employees. They may implement AI for some groups or projects, but most will continue to make decisions the old-fashioned way. Using Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoints, and .pdfs. Too much data. And too many silos.

Spot on most of the employees are required because of disjointed systems that have been layered on top of disjointed systems. Tech debt isn’t money is the fouled up tech stack

In 30 years of working in IT, do you know how many developers I've met who were capable of running a business? ZERO. 99% of them couldn't even manage an IT department. IT is running on fumes now, having kicked out analysts, architects and designers. It's going to implode soon.

The same could’ve been said about when excel pdf powerpoint came out. We just didn’t have the social media platforms to announce it on this level.

Imagine a future where you can make your own program that does what you need it to do, without the bloat (you only need 5% of the features) and without the subscription. That's era began about 6 months ago.
