Prince’s “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” is the greatest guitar solo of all time. Not “one of” — it is THE greatest. Some called it “Disrespectful showboating” because of the talent onstage, but this was the Rock Hall of Fame. And on a stage full of legends, Prince made everyone else look like amateurs. At 3:30, Prince steps up and ends the discussion.

Putting AI doomerism in perspective
If you're not following @PessimistsArc, you're missing out on essential historical context and analysis that will help you navigate the utter sea of bullshit that we're all floating in (I blame bad metaphors on decades-long proximity to @MattWelch).

The funny thing about AI filmmaking right now is that the more powerful the models get, the more serious workflows start looking like traditional filmmaking again. Previs. Blocking. Coverage. Performance continuity. Art direction. Editing. We spent two years trying to get the machine to surprise us. Now we’re building ways to stop it from surprising us.

I’ve returned to the motherland and am honored to be speaking at Warsaw Glitch this afternoon at 13:30 on the WarsawJS Stage. I’ll be screening my commercial and narrative work and sharing insights into my transition from a 20-plus-year career in traditional filmmaking to AI filmmaking. See you there! warsawglitch.com/panel/from-…

I’ll never forget this sight. Tonight I saw my first aurora from space. Luckily, there is a video to help remember and captured it perfectly. The KP index was over 5 tonight because of a solar event and the sky over Australia lit up and the green snaked across the atmosphere. I was filled with awe and gratitude. It’s a beautiful planet we share.

Finland made one of the most quietly terrifying horror films of the 2000s and almost nobody talks about it. Sauna is set in 1595 and the horror creeps in so slowly you barely notice it until the film has completely consumed you. Pure dread, no jump scares
