There is literally *nothing* Britain can do on the regulatory front. We don't have the frontier companies.
If we try to ape some kind of EU AI Act nonsense we'll just drive away DeepMind.
What we should obviously be doing instead is beefing up the genuinely world leading AISI.
After warnings that AI "could kill us all by the end of the decade", Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy tells @BethRigby that the government will do more to properly regulate AI - and we will hear about it very soon.

Today's stats show that 2024-25 tax year saw record capital gains, and capital gains tax revenue.
Capital gains tax is an increasingly important source of revenue for the government, particularly following the unprecedented boom in asset values over the past two decades.
Income from wealth is likely to become steadily more significant as technology adoption and automation accelerate in the coming years.
We don’t know what the government is planning for the upcoming budget, but CGT reform should be a priority.
