Very excited. I remember a number of years ago there were a number of attempts to do similar things in regular JavaScript that didn't catch on. I think TypeScript has made it much more viable. I think it's one of the most important libraries being developed today.

Been thinking a lot lately about how AI has changed open source maintainership.
It's more fun now in many ways. More people are able to jump in and contribute, but that's also what makes it more challenging.
The quality of AI-assisted PRs and issues is all over the place, and they usually come with a metric fuck ton of context.
Much of our time working on @EffectTS_ now goes into figuring out whether a reported bug actually exists or if the AI hallucinated it, or if a proposed feature makes sense for the library.
That said, I'm not convinced much has changed. Maintainer overhead was always high. PRs used to show up with no description and you'd have to guess the intent from the diff. Now you get a wall of text and have to dig through the slop to find what actually matters.
Either way, the job has always been separating signal from noise.

@EffectTS_ amazes me every day, like today when I realized I accidentally wrote good code just because it was naturally the path of least resistance by abstracting Silk's cache storage into a service and it basically gave me the entire basis for remote caching. Entire products are built around this and Silkla.ng got it by accident
