The colonists on the Mayflower were godly people who cared about each other and wanted to share everything. They discovered the harsh reality of human nature. They put in minimal effort into food production, and starvation was the result. The leaders realized that productivity was essential for survival and private property was essential for motivation. They set a quota for each person, and whatever remained beyond the quota became the producer's private property. The colony survived and grew. Money in the form of gold, silver, and copper coins was the common means to store the accumulated wealth of human productivity. Affordability is what money can buy from the fruits of human labor. Taxes and money devaluation reduce affordability. Tools improve human productivity, resulting in more money available and lower prices for what is produced. Socialism redistributes wealth from the taxpayers to the government. The government pays its own overhead and then spends what remains on what it determines is necessary and proper. A limited federal government, specified by the Constitution, keeps taxes at a minimum. When government power expands beyond legal limits, taxes rise, and everything becomes less affordable. Government regulations make products more expensive, reducing affordability. A dramatic shift at the federal government level is essential to improve affordability. Social programs and regulations have gone far beyond constitutional legal limits. Look at the enumerated powers and see for yourself. Look back in history when individual charity worked better than government programs because people were spending their own money rather than the government spending other people's money. Solutions exist, but the political will to change is missing.

Scott Ritter has repeated in interviews, Substack posts, and X: the United States used Ukrainian nationalists as proxies to remove a constitutionally elected president, install a pro-Western government, and set Ukraine on a collision course with Russia. He treats later events (Donbas fighting, 2022 invasion) as direct consequences of that 2014 operation. According to Scott Ritter, the 2014 events in Ukraine were a U.S.-orchestrated coup (which he calls the “Maidan Coup”), not a spontaneous popular revolution. U.S. diplomats, especially Victoria Nuland and Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, selected the post-Yanukovych leadership (Ritter frequently cites the leaked Nuland–Pyatt call and Nuland’s preference for “Yats”/Yatsenyuk). According to Scott Ritter, the war did not start with Russia’s February 2022 invasion. He says it started in 2014. His sequence is: The United States (CIA, State Department, Nuland/Pyatt) orchestrated a coup in Kyiv in February 2014 that removed the elected president, Viktor Yanukovych, and brought Ukrainian nationalists (Right Sector, Svoboda, Banderists) into power. That new government immediately began persecuting ethnic Russians in the east and south—most notably the Odessa Trade Union building fire and the “Anti-Terrorist Operation” in Donbas. Ritter calls this a war of Ukrainian nationalist aggression against the Russian-speaking population. From 2015 onward, NATO (especially the U.S.) trained and equipped the Ukrainian army at a new facility in Ukraine so it could eventually retake Donbas and Crimea by force. Ritter says the Minsk agreements were never intended to be implemented; they were a stalling tactic. After eight years of fighting that killed thousands in Donbas, and with NATO treating Ukraine as a proxy that could be used against Russia, Moscow launched its “special military operation” in 2022 as a preemptive/self-defense response. On 9 April 2022 Boris Johnson made a surprise visit to Kyiv. According to Davyd Arakhamia, who led Ukraine’s delegation, Johnson’s message was that Ukraine should not sign anything with Russia “and let’s just fight.” In late March 2022, Ukrainian and Russian negotiators in Istanbul sketched a possible framework: Ukrainian neutrality (no NATO membership), delayed resolution of Crimea, and some form of security guarantees, with a possible Zelensky–Putin meeting to finish it. After the fall of the Soviet Union, NATO needed to justify its continued existence. NATO expanded eastward over decades to provoke Russia into continued tensions. The war in Ukraine is a proxy war between NATO and Russia. The goal of NATO is to weaken Russia and allow a greater war to gain control over trillions in natural resources controlled by Russia. Napolean and Hitler had such goals and failed badly. Countries in Europe are desperate to avoid blame for the coming financial system collapse and war is the best excuse they can find.

There are ways to develop domestic talent for specialized jobs. Common forms include: 1. Curriculum input and co-designed programs. Employers sit on advisory boards, help write courses, or co-create certificates and degrees so graduates learn tools and practices the company actually uses. Many of those students later receive full-time offers from the same employers. 2. Train-to-hire and academy models. Companies fund or run short, targeted programs that feed directly into jobs. 3. Scholarships, equipment, and on-site training. Firms donate labs, pay tuition or scholarships, send employees as instructors, or have the college train both students and current workers. Community colleges in particular do a lot of this for manufacturing, HVAC, nursing, semiconductors, and skilled trades. There are ways to work with a foreign consultant in a virtual meeting without a work visa. There is no general U.S. ban on paying a consultant who stays in their home country and meets only by video. Restrictions appear when sanctions, export controls, or tax-sourcing rules apply. There is no reason for government to allow foreign nationals long-term employment in the United States. The negative impact of AI on job opportunities should be motivation enough to eliminate such programs.

That aid is real and has included prepaid cards and “cash in envelopes.” Many people released at the border are sent to nonprofit shelters. Those organizations (often using FEMA Shelter and Services grants) provide short-term housing, food, clothing, and transportation to a destination inside the United States. That is reimbursement to the organizations, not a cash payment to the individual. Sanctuary cities do not receive a special federal “sanctuary grant.” They provide a mix of local and state money, plus whatever federal funds they can still use. The package varies by city. Common items paid with city or state dollars: 1. Emergency shelter and hotels. 2. Food, case management, and transportation. Immigration legal aid — representation in removal cases and help filing asylum or work-permit applications. 3. Local health programs — city clinics or state-funded coverage that goes beyond emergency Medicaid. 4. IDs and driver’s licenses (where state law allows). 5. In-state tuition at public colleges in some states. Occasional one-time housing grants or gift cards to leave shelter.

In the end, a person could get free health insurance but never receive benefits because the deductible was unaffordable. The cost of hospital care is made worse for patients paying for the care of people who are unable or unwilling to pay. The main federal law that requires most U.S. hospitals to treat patients without regard to ability to pay is the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA). Enacted in 1986, EMTALA applies to virtually all hospitals that participate in Medicare (the large majority of U.S. hospitals) and operate an emergency department. It requires them to: 1. Provide an appropriate medical screening examination to anyone who comes to the emergency department and requests care. 2. If an emergency medical condition is found, stabilize the patient (or arrange an appropriate transfer) within the hospital’s capabilities. The hidden increase in the cost of health care is the impact of care practices made based on financial incentives. Patients are treated for symptoms and not cures to keep the customers coming back. Patients are directed toward the most expensive treatments with costs hidden behind the wall of insurance payments. The overall health of the general population is in decline due to environmental factors such as unhealthy food, water, and air. Insurance companies are also fat targets for personal injury lawyers who get jackpot awards by juries in favorable venues. An individual can be bankrupted by lawfare, but insurance companies can settle and pass the cost along to consumers. There is much that can be done to make health care costs affordable, but the market-based solution seems to be avoided by government.

Opioids cause dependence, overdose, and constipation. Antibiotics cause C. difficile, allergy, and resistance. Health care networks have financial incentives to choose the most expensive treatments regardless of actual health benefits. Pharmaceutical drugs are given priority over off-label drug usage, supplements, and alternative therapies. Samples are one of the largest marketing line items. They get patients started on a specific brand, familiarize the physician with that product, and often lead to continued prescriptions of the same brand rather than a cheaper generic or an unadvertised alternative. Randomized and observational work shows residents and practicing physicians with sample access prescribe more advertised drugs and fewer over-the-counter or generic options. Hospitals and large practices can acquire discounted drugs and bill at higher rates; that surplus can flow back to employed physicians through compensation formulas. Wholesalers and management-service organizations have also taken stakes in practices that administer high-cost drugs, aligning supplier and prescriber finances.
