Behind the logic gate
googlebook pros: 1) a terminal (took some ricing with claude to make it better) 2) very fast 3) pointing and asking gemini is fun 4) probably some more cool stuff when Argon drops cons: 1) i could not get tern working (would launch, could not type) @_can1357

not at all surprising, but Mitchell really gets it
I just called Chungus (my OpenAI Dot) on the phone while picking up mexican food and asked it to transfer some Rex benchmarks from last night on my Mac Studio to my MacBook Pro via Tailscale and I just got to my desk and there they are. What a fucking time to be alive.

Introducing Claude Haiku 5.5: the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model we’ve ever released. On average, it costs around 75% less to run than Claude Haiku 4.5.

for the next few/several months, if you are adept at working with AI/LLMs, expect to get passed a lot of stuff by people that are not. we can call ourselves "operators" or CAOs (chief agent officers) and we just feed the magic box tasks, and pass it back for folks to check

example: sally knows a lot about subject X. she wants to get task A completed but there's a lot of manual busy work. she asks me to ask an LLM to do task A. i know next to nothing about subject X but i tell the LLM to take what it knows and complete task A

i pass the result of task A back to sally to verify. this sounds very silly, but if you' e ever had to help your parents connect to wifi, or help a friend set up a streaming service, it is not all that different

he's right
I still love neovim, but lately I've started just opening lazygit directly. That plus an agent is now good enough for 95% of the work I do.

they need to do acrobat next and support acrobat plugins
This is the doom I predicted a few days ago, coming for Photoshop. A clean-room open-source reimplementation. No prizes for guessing that they decompiled Photoshop to source code, processed that to some kind of non-code specification language, then fed the spec to an LLM with an instruction to generate Rust. Adobe just got nuked. And closed source is dead, dead, dead. github.com/storytold/photocr…
