Something to be aware of when encountering viral French riot videos online. Especially when loaded with right wing narratives and talking points, as they are on X. Make note of the accounts pushing this campaign for future review. Russian intelligence services have a documented history of exploiting civil unrest to destabilize governments, deepen political divisions and undermine public confidence in democratic institutions. Warnings of possible Russian hybrid attacks came days and weeks ahead of protests in France. Large demonstrations provide opportunities for sabotage, provocations and other forms of interference to take place amid existing unrest, making it harder for authorities to distinguish politically motivated violence from coordinated foreign operations. Riots and violent confrontations can be exploited to increase tensions between demonstrators and police. A single violent incident can trigger a wider confrontation, provoke a heavy police response and undermine public support for otherwise peaceful demonstrations. Russian operatives do not need to control a protest movement to exploit it. Kremlin-linked influence networks can then circulate selective footage, misleading claims and fabricated accounts of the violence. The same incident can be presented to different audiences in contradictory ways: protesters are portrayed as violent extremists, while police and government officials are accused of authoritarian repression. Both narratives encourage hostility and distrust. This is where the GRU and Russia's wider influence apparatus become relevant. Russian military intelligence has been implicated in sabotage and other covert operations across Europe, while Kremlin-linked online networks have conducted coordinated campaigns to manipulate political debate. Physical disruption and online amplification can reinforce each other, although evidence is needed to establish whether they are coordinated in any particular incident. The timing of warnings before major demonstrations matters because authorities must prepare for the possibility of deliberate interference without treating legitimate protesters as suspects. Provocateurs can take advantage of crowded streets, existing tensions and the presence of large numbers of police officers. Any resulting violence may initially be attributed to protesters, regardless of who was responsible. Prolonged unrest also strains policing resources, consumes government attention and diverts political debate from other issues, including France's military and diplomatic support for Ukraine. Images of burning vehicles, street clashes and damaged infrastructure can be circulated internationally to portray France and its European allies as unstable. These images are particularly useful to Russian propaganda when presented without context or when isolated incidents are made to appear representative of an entire protest movement. Russia does not need to organise demonstrations to benefit from them. It can exploit legitimate grievances, amplify isolated violence and encourage opposing groups to blame one another. The protests in France may have entirely legitimate causes. That does not prevent Russian intelligence services from attempting to exploit them. But warnings of possible hybrid attacks are not, by themselves, evidence that Russian operatives have infiltrated the demonstrations or caused specific incidents.

Macron lacked some balls. He should have done what was necessary and been honest about it from day one of his presidency, trying to be as transparent as possible. He played it wrong because he probably thought at some point, “Nooo, a lot of people are going to be unhappy, and they're going to vote for Le Pen in the next election.” Well, fuck it. He should have played his own game instead of being so passive. I think we're at a historical moment, especially in Europe, when people would rather see something being done than put up with total passivity accompanied by constant scaremongering. Just do something. Just try to accomplish what you were elected to do. Be ambitious, and if you lose the next election, so be it. What's happening in France and Germany clearly shows us that simply waiting or implementing timid reforms in an attempt to prevent your populist competitors from gaining ground doesn't work.
Macron, like Merz, is a tragic figure. He always knew what was necessary to fix France. But in France, The People (derogatory) will chimp out in the streets at any reform to the entitlements system. And now they're chimping out at the lack of reform and its consequences.

Unfortunately, it appears my prediction below is coming true. A fake peace deal between Trump and Putin that Trump believes will save his election and that Putin will break the day after that election, and all these gifts to Putin are the Kremlin milking it in exchange for agreeing. Agreement between Trump and Putin, forcing Zelensky to abide while knowing its just for Nov 3rd. Putin gets concrete, permanent gifts to aid his war machine while Ukraine gets more war and more US attacks. Meanwhile US Congress is MIA.
Simply put. We'll likely see Trump and Putin agree to a fake "armistace deal" in the next week or so, aimed at saving midterm elections. Putin is now milking Trump for maximum concessions before agreeing, with Trump piling on the gifts. Turning off Starlink was to ensure that if Ukraine doesn't agree, Putin just ramps up the massacres on newly undefended cities - as it's required for Ukraine's interceptors - until Zelensky agrees. Russia will break the agreement the day after the election, claiming Ukraine broke the agreement, but Putin will already have massive concessions, walking away with huge new revenue streams for his war machine.

Every French person should just memorise this text and repeat it every day before getting up, this part in particular: "For 50 years, politicians from all sides have accustomed us to believing that we could promise everything, fund everything, and distribute more and more without asking who would pay. We were made to believe that public money was MAGICAL. We’re paying the price: immense debt, struggling schools, healthcare under strain, pensions needing reform, insecurity that worries us. And yet, France is among the most heavily taxed countries. Our financial education is insufficient. Giving more to schools is fair. But with what money? With every reform, everyone hopes the effort will be asked of others. We must reform pensions, better manage public money, and encourage work. And accept our share of responsibility. The state can’t solve everything: every choice has a cost, and we can’t fund it all. We need to set priorities, learn to manage our money, prepare our future, and not expect everything from a “nanny state.”"

I’m French. 🇫🇷 And I’m tired of watching people confuse freedom with the freedom to destroy. You have the right to protest. You have the right to be angry. You have the right to demand change. You do NOT have the right to burn, loot or attack people. A Republic that protects the right to protest must also protect its citizens from violence. That’s not authoritarianism. That’s the rule of law.

Latest: Zelenskyy tells reporters over WhatsApp that restrictions on Ukraine's Starlink systems remain. Interceptor drones can't function, logistics and operations hobbled. The maximum speed is 161 kph; "exceeding this limit causes the Starlink connection to cut out completely, resulting in the loss of the drone." He says Ukraine has done tests to determine whether SpaceX is truly facing technical issues, as has been told Kyiv by the US side, or if this is a "deliberate operation... to restrict us, cut us off, and prevent us from defending ourselves and protecting our people, both at the front and among the civilian population." He says Ukraine "sent a couple of vehicles equipped with Starlink terminals into European Union territory." "They moved at speeds exceeding 180kph, and the Starlink systems worked perfectly. We have the relevant logs and evidence to prove this." He adds: "The conclusion is clear: the restrictions are in effect within Ukraine but do not apply within the European Union. In other words, this is a planned operation."

Concerning...
EXCLUSIVE: Elon Musk came to Donald Trump with the plan to throttle Ukraine’s use of SpaceX’s Starshield satellite internet network, sources have told the Telegraph. The tech billionaire made the proposal during the US President’s row with Volodymyr Zelensky over strikes on Russian oil refineries. ‘The reality is that they were both in it,’ a senior source said of Musk’s and Trump’s involvement. But after a night of carnage in Kyiv caused by the slowdown, Musk was alarmed about the possibility of adverse consumer reaction in Europe. The SpaceX boss then proceeded to tweet, blaming the US administration, and ultimately, President Trump for authorising the slowdown. ‘He tweeted out that he was innocent and that it was the US administration that did it,’ the source said.

#ElonMusk #RussiaUkraineWar #RussialsATerroristState

Come on, Merz 💪 Don't let those grifters from the other side of the ocean give that money back to Putin.
🇪🇺 What do you think of the idea of placing Russian assets frozen in the EU under U.S. control? 🇩🇪 Merz: These are assets that are frozen in Europe, and they should remain frozen in Europe. This is our business, and we decide on it.

The @EUCouncil has still not released the working documents where each Member State’s position on EU Inc would be visible. Against the law. Against EU Court rulings. Enough with this opacity that benefits the red tape lobby. They know they have to hide this. That’s why they hide it. We want European leaders who make Europe win. Not on the wrong side of Europe’s history. The most obvious thing is to make EU Inc as fast and as easy, or faster and easier, than US Delaware. Not to keep notaries feudal privileges and imposing a numerus clausus, a de facto ban on English, exhorbitant fees and sham digitalization in EU Inc. Europeans have spoken. Don’t go against Europeans’ will. Repost
Europe’s founders need a European standard to compete globally from day one. Europe’s leaders committed to delivering one. But their teams are negotiating away the very things that make it one. There is still time to change course if Europe's Heads of State step in now.

Keep Starlink away from anything of strategic importance in Europe. I don't care if it's the best solution on the market: you can't let critical infrastructure or people's lives depend on the whims of the US president or a single individual who doesn't even live in Europe and who makes these kinds of decisions without even notifying those who rely on his service in advance.
🚨 BREAKING: Ukrainian military sources are reporting that Elon Musk’s SpaceX abruptly restricted Starlink satellite communications during Ukrainian military operations overnight, disrupting critical missions as Russia unleashed a massive missile and drone barrage against Kyiv. Ukrainian activist Serhii Sternenko reports that Starlink connections began dropping when terminals were moving faster than 100 mph (160 km/h), causing multiple missions to fail. Ukrainian military communications expert Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov says the restrictions were imposed WITHOUT WARNING. Sternenko suspects SpaceX acted at the request of the Trump administration, though that allegation has not been independently confirmed. It is clear that Trump is furious that Zelenskyy has refused to surrender and give away eastern Ukraine, and now Trump is trying to break Ukraine's resolve by actively supporting Russia. He seems to take that refusal as a personal insult, an attack on his image as the dealmaker who can end the war. Once again, Trump is blaming his own failures on others. This time, the consequences are deadly.
