I have no idea what Trump meant by “Let them take out Los Angeles,” but I do know this: his argument that high gas prices are a “small price to pay” to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon is complete nonsense. Iran didn’t have a nuclear weapon under the previous deal negotiated by Obama. We didn’t have high gas prices. Our military bases weren’t under bombardment. We weren’t running out of critical munitions. Those things are all a result of Trump tearing up that deal and choosing instead to start a war—a war that has already cost taxpayers nearly fifty billion dollars, with Americans paying even more at the pump. Trump will keep using the “small price to pay” line. Don’t fall for it.
Trump on War/High Prices: It's just artificial. It's a little bit high. It's a small price to pay. They can take out a city. Let them take out Los Angeles. Let them take out San Diego…

"They can take out a city, let 'em take out Los Angeles, let 'em take out San Diego. This is a very small price to pay." — President Donald Trump Folks this was another warning by MAGA. They are telling us we don’t matter. The narrative is rapidly moving from anger-to-hate-to-aggression and it’s straight up maniacal. He said Iran could take out California last night and it would be no big deal… AND HIS FOLLOWERS CHEERED! Americans cheered for his allowance of one of our states to be attacked. If you’re not preparing for this. You should. Voting matters but he’s showing us that the rules of law and order no longer exist. #Resist #BlueCrew #BlueWave #VoteBlue26 #ImpeachTrump

Remember when we all recently cried over 9/11? Now, weeks later, the pervert in chief tells a foreign country to make 9/11 happen for millions of citizens near military bases in Los Angeles and San Diego. The GOP should be ashamed for unleashing this toxic jerk on our country.😒

Wonder why some people speak so badly about their own kind? It’s because hearing the oppressor say the words “you’re a credit to your kind, and not like those others” is a helluva drug, and some lost souls are addicted to it.😞

Neiman Marcus closed its downtown Dallas flagship yesterday. The store played a notable role in the history of desegregation in Dallas during the 1960s. Previously, Black shoppers across the US could enter department stores, but they weren't allowed to try on clothes before purchasing without adhering to certain conditions. For instance, they had to try on clothes over their clothes, put on protective covers when trying on hats, or weren't allowed to make returns once they purchased clothes and brought them home. These policies stemmed from the racist fear that white customers would refuse merchandise previously worn by Black shoppers. The downtown Neiman Marcus flagship was one of the first major Dallas businesses that broke with these practices. In 1961, the company desegregated its Zodiac Room, a swanky restaurant frequented by Dallas elites. Neiman Marcus later welcomed Black shoppers without restrictions. These victories were achieved through the efforts of Civil Rights activists, along with support from Neiman Marcus president Stanley Marcus, who was an early advocate for desegregation in Dallas. The Neiman Marcus store manager purportedly warned Marcus that he would ruin his business — and indeed, some shoppers closed their accounts — but he stuck with his decision. At the time of the flagship's closure, the Main Street store had been open for 112 years.

Pete Hegseth is twisting scripture again. He's trying to use the words of Isaiah to wrap up power and war in sacred clothes. Pete Hegseth needs to study his scripture. Because Isaiah challenged government that marginalizes the poor, the widows, the orphans. He challenges corruption. Faith, when it is authentic, stands on the margins, stands with the weak, and recognizes that all of us are children of the living God. I'm standing with Isaiah.

Holding in my prayers all the innocent children lost due to natural causes or adult neglect. Every child who goes beyond the clouds represents light going out of our world. May their beautiful souls inspire us to create a world worthy of these angels in human form. 😢🙏

The “Blood and Bone” controversy is a great reminder to writers that YOU must know what the core elements of your work are, and be able to cogently and succinctly convey them. If the theme is complicated or internal dialogue dependent, it won’t survive the adaptation process.😞

Did you know? The largest maximum security prison in the United States sits on eighteen thousand acres of former plantation land in Louisiana. It is still a working farm. Men still pick crops in the fields by hand, watched by guards on horseback. And it is named after the country the people enslaved there were taken from. Angola. The land was four plantations. The one that gave the prison its name was called Angola because that was where its owner's workforce had come from. After the Civil War the property was leased for convict labour, and then the state bought it and kept the system going under a different name. Men still work the fields for cents an hour. Refusing to work has historically been punishable. It holds around five thousand people. The overwhelming majority are Black. Most are serving life without parole. It also hosts a rodeo, twice a year, open to the paying public, where prisoners compete for small prizes in front of an audience that drives in for the day. A plantation named for an African country, worked by Black men under armed guard, with a paying crowd on weekends. Nothing about that sentence is metaphor. Every word of it is the literal description of a functioning American institution.

If our Christianity causes kids to go hungry, the sick to go without healthcare, the immigrant to be unwelcome, the needy to be called "parasites," all while billionaires get richer, we've completely disregarded the most basic elements of Jesus' teachings.
