I turn 29 on Wednesday, and the final year of my 20s is already coming in with a serious bang. I’ve been named one of HSBC x UK Black Business Show’s Top 25 Black Entrepreneurs to Watch 2026.

I’ve never been to Congo.
My French isn’t the best. I understand Lingala far better than I speak it.
So listening to Tiakola’s WpointM felt weirdly personal.
Two Congolese kids from the diaspora, him raised in France, me raised in London, both carrying a country in ways that don’t always look traditional.
Then add my cousin Gaetan executive producing the album and my friend Zaza at Sony being part of the project too. Yeah, this one is close to home.
Not really an album review.
More of a love letter to Congo, diaspora, language, family and the strange feeling of knowing exactly where you’re from, even when you’ve never been there.

We traded community for followers
I think we traded community for followers and convinced ourselves it was the same thing.
We are more visible than ever, but are we actually more known?
Growing up, community was aunties picking you up from school, airport runs, tood turning up at your house, people sitting with you when somebody died. Nobody posted it. You just showed up.
Now we have thousands of people watching our lives, but who can you actually call at 4am?
I don't think we need to go backwards. I just think somewhere between "protect your peace", "choose yourself" and "cut them off", we forgot that needing people is part of being human.
