This might shock you, there are vegans out there who feed their pets a raw diet because that's whats best for their pet. Those pets are one who are carnivorous. Do not abuse your animal like this.

At the end of the day, it's be better, not perfect. Don't force a carnivore to be a herbivore
Besides cost, the barrier to trying vegan food with my cats is having a vet on board.
Vets are hostile to the idea of veganism just like most everyone else- plus their profits depend on hocking this or that food, even suggesting trendy anti-scientific diets like raw meat.

Vets advise against vegan diets for cats because they are obligate carnivores needing nutrients like taurine primarily from animal sources, per BVA, ASPCA and PetMD. Vets typically discourage raw meat diets due to bacterial/parasite risks, not suggest them.

Synthetic cat food would require testing on cats, which would be risky for the cats.
Unpopular to say, but fuck it:
‘Obligate carnivore’ is an ecological term, not a nutritional term.
In nature, a cat must hunt, because their digestive system requires the *nutrients* found in meat.
Those nutrients can be synthesized.
