NASA's own inspector general confirmed that number. Boeing builds the core stage. Northrop Grumman builds the solid rocket boosters. Aerojet Rocketdyne supplies the engines. Every one of those contracts flows to congressional districts where senators sit on the appropriations committees that fund NASA. Coincidence?
Congress mandated the SLS in 2010 because the cancellation of the Constellation program threatened to idle the same workforce and facilities that had built the Space Shuttle. Senators Richard Shelby and Bill Nelson wrote the requirement directly into the authorization bill. They protected Alabama and Florida jobs. The politics drove the rocket, not engineering logic.
SpaceX's Falcon Heavy lifts comparable payload for roughly $90 million. The SLS costs forty-five times more per flight. That gap destroys you as a taxpayer; you fund the difference without consent and without choice. No competitive bid. No market test. Boeing received cost-plus contracts, meaning every overrun simply became next year's invoice to the Treasury.
Ludwig von Mises identified the central problem: when bureaucracies spend other people's money on other people's projects, waste is the predictable outcome, not the aberration. Congress spent $23 billion developing the SLS before its first launch in November 2022. It launched twice total by mid-2026, with the third mission schedule slipping repeatedly.
The SLS is a constituency management program wearing a rocket as a costume.

Greece has passed a new law imposing at least 10 years in prison and a €50,000 fine on NGO workers who help migrants cross its borders illegally, even if they do it for free. Anyone else who commits the same offense faces at least five years in prison and a €20,000 fine.
NGO workers who help illegal migrants hide from police or remain in Greece can receive up to 10 years in prison.
Transporting or hiding them carries at least 10 years and a €60,000 fine for every migrant involved.
The government can also remove the entire NGO from its official list as soon as a member is charged.

After an FBI investigation with our DOJ partners, Dr. Fauci’s associate, David Morens, just pleaded guilty to conspiracy in a scheme to avoid FOIA requests and the Federal Records Act connected to COVID-19 research grants.
The FBI uncovered that Morens, Co-Conspirator 1, Co-Conspirator 2, and others conspired during the COVID-19 pandemic to defraud the United States after the National Institutes of Health terminated Co-Conspirator 1’s grant.
NIH terminated the grant, “Understanding the Risk of Bat Coronavirus Emergence,” based on allegations that COVID-19 emerged from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in Wuhan, China.
Mr. Morens and his co-conspirators then agreed in writing to intentionally hide their communications from public view by corresponding through Morens’s personal Gmail account rather than his official NIH email account.
This FBI investigation remains ongoing. No one is above the law.

This is round two of a fight that's been building all year. In June, BitGo's CEO Mike Belshe was the one who publicly shredded a viral claim that Anthropic's AI had breached almost all of the NSA's classified systems. Turned out that story was a rewritten version of an authorized security drill, not a real hack. Belshe called it out before most people even questioned it.
Now he's done arguing about headlines. He's put $6 million where his mouth is and said, in public, prove it or stop selling the story.
Either Anthropic takes the dare, or this becomes the loudest silence in AI security this year.

The Real Anthony Fauci became the #1 non-fiction hardcover bestseller despite being the most censored book of the decade. Bookstores, including national chains, refused to carry it. Libraries refused to carry it. Every major newspaper declined to review it. The New York Times refused to publish a paid advertisement for the book and made it #7 on its bestseller list, even though it outsold any other book by thousands of copies.
YouTube took down videos of a book signing. Amazon shadow banned it. Twitter wouldn’t let the publisher promote it.
Despite all of that, 1.4 million Americans bought the book because they were tired of the lies and they wanted their freedom back.
Then today, with hundreds of millions of Americans demanding the truth, Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment 111 times at his Senate hearing. The American people waited six years for answers. Today, they got silence. But that silence told us all we needed to know.
