Can tragedy have a silver lining? Is there a good that came from the slaughter of 1200 innocent people? If you ask any “October 8th Jew,” that answer is a solemn yes. It’s a hard question to answer. But for all of us who took passive ownership of our Judaism, October 7th was a wake up call. We had friends who were indoctrinated by the anti-Israel cult. We would see their posts about Israel’s “cruelty,” or “open air prisons.” We wanted to keep our friends, so we let it slide or said, “you don’t know the history, but I see what you’re saying.” That morning changed everything. I opened 𝕏 and saw the videos that Hamas was publishing on Telegram. I was frozen in horror. I felt physically sick and my chest hurt. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I knew that what was coming next would be a massive shift in the world’s perception of Israel and Jews. However, I never imagined the constant hate. The encampments. Death threats. World leaders calling “genocide” before the IDF ever entered Gaza. The aftermath was soul destroying. People and big social media accounts were sharing obviously fake trauma videos. The term “Pallywood” was coined. So many people, and major news outlets believed that terrorists were the truth tellers. It was inconceivable. So now we come to the silver lining. A few weeks later, I attended the first Shabbat service since the 90s. I always identified as Jewish, but I rejected religion. I felt a connection to my people, but in a secular manner. I didn’t know exactly what to expect from shul, and the congregation from my childhood where I had my Bar Mitzvah was gone. The first service was very emotional. I couldn’t hold back tears hearing the Shema and Oseh Shalom. After visiting three congregations, I found a special place that welcomed me with enthusiasm and love. I felt Hashem in my soul. I regret shunning my religion for so many years, but I am grateful for Hashem’s love and forgiveness. I can’t unfeel what I now feel. It defends me from the hatred I encounter. No amount of terrible 𝕏 posts can hurt me. What gives me hope, comfort, and confidence in a strong future for Israel and Jews is that my story is just one of thousands like it. On the heels of another in a long time of atrocities comes an opportunity to make our story less about suffering and more about a future of prosperity, community, and faith.

Does anyone else find it suspicious that all the people claiming Vivek will import millions of Indians are the exact same people voting for the party that actually imported millions of illegal invaders into Ohio?

Ohio has two options: 1. A man who was born in Ohio and loves America but unfortunately happens to be Hindu instead of Christian or 2. A radical globalist communist who supports Islamists who want to destroy America. If you would rather choose 2, you are retarded & evil

Talarico. All that “I love Jewish people” and then says there should be a two state solution. Because the slaughter of families and the young people at the Nova Festival should lead to a reward of sovereignty for terrorists. And purple haired “rabbi” Holly just nods along. 🤯
Rabbi Holly asks Talarico about stance on Israel. Talarico proceeds to do some light glazing before parroting Hamas talking points to the rabbi.

In 1938, five years into Nazi rule, 32 countries met at Evian, France to decide what to do with the Jews of Germany. They talked for nine days. They ate, drank, laughed, and agreed the Jews faced mortal danger. Then they kept their doors closed. By 1945, about 1.5 million Jewish children in Europe had been murdered. That’s 94% of those alive at the start of the war in 1939. There was no army, no reliable passport, and no Allied rescue that arrived in time. Survivors came out of the camps to find neighbors living in their homes and uninterested in their return. In several places, that disinterest turned into violent pogroms. Jews survived Hitler’s madness only to be killed when they tried to return home. Hundreds of thousands of Jewish survivors had no homes and were placed back behind wire as “displaced persons.” Their ancestral homeland, recognized by the League of Nations in 1922 as the site of a Jewish national home, remained under a British blockade that kept Jewish immigration to a trickle. In 1947, the UN offered a truncated Jewish state next to an Arab state. The Jews accepted it, but the Arab Higher Committee refused. On the eve of the 1948 invasion, Azzam Pasha of the Arab League declared it would be “a war of extermination and momentous massacre.” The war killed about 1% of the Jewish population. The rest stayed and built a country that is now a technological leader, a regional power, and home to half the world’s Jews. No conference of self-congratulating leaders gets to decide anymore whether Jews must stay and be slaughtered or leave and hope to be saved. Now, there is a Jewish state. Now, every Jew has a home.

Hey @MLB - wanna get more kids watching baseball? Maybe start with the commercials. Watching the playoffs tonight with my kids and here's the rundown: - Megan Fox selling ED pills in a red bodysuit - The scariest movie trailer you've ever seen - Sydney Sweeney in zero clothes promoting betting on sports Leagues can't figure out why kids don't watch. You don't need a Nickelodeon game. You're not the Savannah Bananas. Just show baseball in a way I can leave on in my house.

I haven’t ever wanted to see a performer talk about politics at their shows. I can doomscroll 𝕏 or watch cable news if that’s the mood. Concerts are for music. Period.
Standing for nothing, fence-sitting is the least heavy metal, the least rock & roll thing I can think of…

Hola, soy palestino. 1947. La ONU me ofreció un estado. Junto a Israel. Fronteras, independencia, reconocimiento. Me dio autonomía. ¿Democracia? No he tenido elecciones en casi 20 años.

As X is flooded with posts saying "I am a zionist", I'm struck by the stark difference between their simple, warm statements of support and the vicious, violent bile that spews out of the antizionist element.

This is a nice distraction from politics, so here it is. 9 albums that shaped me. I don’t listen to all of them often, but they influenced what I listen to today. I could agonize over the choices forever, but this is a good sample.
A little late to the party but...here you go.
