Me: “Hey, I don’t believe those things nor are they currently official positions of the Church, despite any previous speculation on the matter.” Them: “You’re lying, just be honest. You believe this stuff.”
Replying to @moroni7_3
Mormons would get more respect if they just wouldn’t lie. You believe Jesus was born of his Dad who was born of his dad. And the father was once a man like us on a planet somewhere that Jesus obviously didn’t create. Just be honest.

For the most part, this is a doctrine that Latter-day Saints can’t even begin to fathom. We cannot say God loves us and simultaneously say the following: youtu.be/4Ej19HE6vwk?is=6qgT…

This was President Oaks literally just a few days ago: “This is the Church of Jesus Christ, so named because it is His Church.”
The difference between Mormons and Christians: Mormons follow a prophet. Christians follow Jesus Christ. Who is the head of your church?

Ricky asks for “yes” or “no” answers so he can more easily twist your words. It doesn’t matter how many times you tell him we don’t believe Jesus is created, he’ll just keep asserting it anyways.
Then your Jesus is a created being and not God. Not the Christ. John 1:1–3. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Read it again. In the beginning, he already was. Everything that got made, got made through him. If your Jesus came out of a heavenly mother, he got made. He is one of the things that were made. He is not the Word. Colossians 1:16–17. “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth… And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” Before all things. Not before most things. Not the first kid in a premortal nursery. Before all things. A son born of heavenly parents has a before. He has parents who are not him. He fails the verse. John 8:58. “Before Abraham was, I am.” Not “before Abraham was, I was born to my Father and my Mother.” I am. Same name God gave Moses in Exodus 3:14. Your Jesus can’t say that. He has a birthday in heaven. He has an origin. He is a younger member of a species. The one speaking in John 8 does not have an origin. Isaiah 43:10. “Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” Your system needs a God formed. Heavenly Father was a man, then he was formed into a god, then he and a wife formed a son. That is gods formed before and after. Isaiah just called it. Micah 5:2 says the ruler out of Bethlehem has goings forth “from of old, from everlasting.” Everlasting does not mean “eldest spirit child of an exalted couple.” Repent.

It bothers me when people say things like, “this is directly contrary to the scriptures.” No, it is contrary to how *you* interpret the scriptures.
#LDS #mormons believe all other faiths will end up in heaven. This is directly contrary to the teachings of Scripture, and particularly in opposition to what Christ stated in Jn. 14:6. It's another example of the fact they do not believe what Scripture says.

I always find it fascinating when Protestants say people want or choose hell. It’s such a cop out answer. So you’re telling me someone suffering in hell still says, “Yup, this is exactly what I chose.” Makes zero sense.
God freely creates people He knows will go to hell... why?

If God doesn’t will the best good for each person, then what exactly is the good news of the gospel?
Replying to @moroni7_3
Its not ad hom. Him presenting the book as if he didnt write it is the issue. That need to be dealt with before His argument. No God does not will the best good for each person.

Notice the ad hominem attacks? No one is addressing the claims, they’re just angry Hayden didn’t say he was LDS.
Hayden Carroll is perfectly fine using deception in his debates with Christians. Therefore, no one should give him the time of day until he learns not to be a bad faith actor...

You also don’t fix blindness by rubbing clay into someone’s eyes…but here we are.
Joseph Smith was a moron. I'm a former EMS worker. My wife has been a Pediatric RN for 25 years. My daughter is an EMT and a hospital worker. My son is going into his last semester of nursing school to get his RN. We all agree. You don't cure cholera by drinking salt vinegar and pepper and dunking yourself in a river.

Something stood out to me today that I never realized before while reading “Teachings of the Presidents of the Church - Joseph Smith:” Between his first vision (1820) and his death (1844), it was only 24 years. In 24 short years, look at everything he accomplished.

Mormons have a weak and pathetic message doomed to fail The gospel is powerful, true, and centered Christ and will not fail

People fail to realize Paul’s gospel is not always consistent. Even the four gospels can barely agree on who Christ is. This doesn’t have to be faith shattering, it’s just the reality of a newly formed theology in the first-century CE.
Without suggesting Mormonism or any other version of Christianity actually aligns with Paul's own version (none of them do––not even the rest of the so-called Pauline texts do), this argument must presuppose the one making it is aligned with Paul (which they're definitely not).

You can rant and rave and interpret all the scriptures you want, but you can never take away the endowment of glory one receives while visiting the house of the Lord - the temple.

We love keeping the commandments
Mormon General Conference seemed like a works trip. The Bible says: "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing." Gal 2:21 "for it is by grace you are saved, through faith ... not by works" Eph 2:8-9

At least he got the “angel came down from heaven” part right.
So, let me get this straight: An angel came down from heaven, preached another gospel to Joseph Smith, and we're supposed to believe it? No way in hell I will believe that nonsense. Note Galatians 1:8-10. #LDS is a lie.

Elder Uchtdorf’s message on unity is not merely just a nice ideal - Christ-centered unity is the foundation of everything we do. This type of unity is the very core of our temple ordinances. We covenant in unity, pray in unity, progress in unity.
