Our leaders were dribbled in the formulation of the Municipal structures act, the allocation of PR seats is undemocratic and punishes the parties who received the most PR and wards votes . People vote for a party in the PR ballot separate from Ward Candidate ballot , then you are allocated zero PR councillors because you won most wards . Parties like DA and its offspring ActinSA will govern most municipalities through PR Councillors as they never win most wards. Don’t blame the IEC , amend the law.

I can’t believe Helen Zille moved from Cape Town six months before elections to become Mayor of Johannesburg but the people of Tshwane wanted to burn the whole city when Thoko Didiza who was staying in Tshwane for more than ten years was supposed to be Mayor of Tshwane merely because he was labelled as a “Zulu person” but Helen is getting away with it because she is white, white people created for themselves a privilege of belonging anywhere without being questioned based on language or anything.
