Look at the faces of those women when they get told what real equality is. That woman speaking brings fire.
They want 50 percent of the boardrooms, the law firms, the media jobs, the HR departments and all those Instagram-ready “leadership” positions, but you never hear them demanding 50 percent of the wastewater plants, the oil rigs, the grave digging, the garbage routes or the jobs that keep the lights on and the toilets flushing.
And don’t get me wrong, I absolutely believe in equal pay for the same job. But the equality argument falls apart when you’re only interested in equality for the jobs you actually want while completely ignoring so many of the hard, dirty and dangerous jobs that men overwhelmingly do.
If we’re going to talk about equality, then talk about all of it. You don’t get to cherry-pick the comfortable parts and pretend the rest doesn’t exist.
Funny how “equality” always seems to stop right before the hard work.
