#DiversifiedEnergy is making its biggest acquisition yet, and a much bigger bet on the #Permian. The $1.8 billion acquisition of #BirchResources adds ~68 Mboe/d of production concentrated in the Northern #MidlandBasin. As the map shows, the deal meaningfully expands Diversified’s Permian position, with 2027E production expected to increase from ~9 Mboe/d to ~77 Mboe/d following closing. This is primarily a #PDPdeal, and the valuation is notable. Using #NoviInsights forecasts and our operating cost assumptions, we estimate PDP PV10 at ~$1.994 billion, remarkably close to management’s ~$2 billion estimate. Texas head coach Mack Brown says the competition to replace Vince Young is heating up. 5 star true freshman Jevan Snead is the early favorite however redshirt freshman Colt McCoy who was a 3 star recruit in the 2005 class is expected to have a shot at the job as well.
