I remember those. 11 year old me thought this was the greatest invention known to mankind.
In 2003-04, Hot Wheels made NASCAR diecasts that changed color based on the temperature. When cold, it's a test scheme - when warm, it's the primary scheme

The same people that said shut up and take the playoffs are the same people telling you to shut up and take the Gen 7 car

I cannot wait for the industry to fix the Next Gen or replace it, then act like they didn't spend the entire time defending the damn thing so disingenuously. It's just like how much we saw them defending the Playoffs until it suddenly was their idea to replace it.
Cars trailing and getting each other loose. You know, real stock car racin.

I've never understood the words: "We used to be big race fans, but don't watch anymore." More than I do now. I really hope I can force myself back into it, but I genuinely care more about football.

How do we have execs, competitors, media, personalities who literally competed, officiated, covered the sport during this time... Who still find a way to try & convince the masses that the current product is acceptable? Objectively the racing isn't authentically as good.

I started telling @armanydepaul this 2 years ago. Technology has hurt racing in a bad way.
Advancements in Technology/engineering overall has just hurt racing in general. Poor guys in F1 are racing computer simulations right now.

PAUL MENARD SHOULD HAVE WON THIS RACE.
On this date in 2008: @TonyStewart won the NASCAR Cup Series race at @TALLADEGA.

You can't make this up... @dennyhamlin is about to make up points on Larson & have a 10-point lead after stage one. HE SPINS ON HIS OWN WITH 3 TO GO.

The COT with a spoiler was a fantastic car racing wise. 2011, 2012. Both great years.
The Car of Tommorow truly was overhated as time has gone on.

I hate beating a dead horse but it is unbelievable that NASCAR doesn’t want this product on Sunday’s. I am so much more interested in the O’Riley racing product. Just so fun to watch.
