I never really paid much attention to exchange VIP programs. Whenever I saw them, my brain immediately went: “How much do I have to trade before this becomes useful to me?” Because that is usually where the conversation starts. You need a certain balance. Or a certain trading volume. Or some combination of both. So if you are just using an exchange normally, VIP can feel like something happening on another floor of the building. Then I looked at how @MEXC VVIP works. The starting point is an initial M Score of 350, which puts you into Standard without requiring a specified asset balance or trading volume first. That part alone changes the way I look at the whole thing. You are not being told to become a whale before you can enter the membership system. You get into Standard first, then your M Score can change based on things like trading activity, account assets, security settings and daily activity. I passed Advanced KYC, funded my MEXC Global Card and tried to actually spend it in supermarkets here. Didn't go the way i expected. The card is a virtual Visa. In person, that means it only works through an NFC tap to pay terminal or by adding it to Apple Pay or Google Pay first. Most supermarkets i tried still run chip and pin machines and a virtual card can't be inserted into those, since there is no physical card to insert. In Taipei as shown by @0xYukiRabbit, tap to pay is everywhere. Here, the terminal itself is what blocks you, not the card. Same product, different city, completely different outcome. @MEXC already has the Visa Global Card, and previously worked with ether.fi on a separate card product. For markets like mine, I did like to see them go further. A Mastercard partnership or a Mastercard rail option that local POS machines already accept, would help. Visa only virtual tap doesn't reach enough shops here. If MEXC can solve that for this region, both sides win. More cardholders actually using it and more merchants accepting it.
