My public life has been shaped by one constant belief: development must ultimately improve the everyday lives of people. In the 1990s, that meant building a technology ecosystem and creating new opportunities for a changing economy. Today, one of my deepest priorities is more fundamental — ensuring that water reaches our farmers, especially those at the tail-end who have waited for decades. Whether it is pixels or pipes, the purpose remains the same: to solve problems, strengthen livelihoods and build a better future for every family in Andhra Pradesh. తెలుగు సాహిత్యంలో అభ్యుదయ భావాలకు, సామాజిక సంస్కరణకు బలమైన పునాదులు వేసిన మహనీయుడు గురజాడ అప్పారావు గారు. మూఢాచారాలు, బాల్యవివాహాలు, కన్యాశుల్కం వంటి సామాజిక దురాచారాలను తన రచనల ద్వారా ప్రశ్నించి, మానవతా విలువలు, సమానత్వం, స్త్రీ గౌరవం కోసం ఉద్యమించిన సంస్కర్త. గురజాడ జయంతి సందర్భంగా ఆ మహనీయుని సాహితీ సేవలను, ఆశయాలను స్మరించుకుంటూ ఘన నివాళులు అర్పిస్తున్నాను. గురజాడ జయంతిని రాష్ట్ర పండుగగా నిర్వహిస్తున్నందుకు సంతోషంగా ఉంది. “దేశమంటే మట్టి కాదోయ్.. దేశమంటే మనుషులోయ్” అని చాటి చెప్పిన గురజాడ బాటలో నడుద్దాం. సమాజ ప్రగతి, ప్రజా సంక్షేమం కోసం మన వంతు కృషి చేయడమే గురజాడకు మనం అందించే నిజమైన నివాళి.

నా బాల్య మిత్రుడు, మంత్రిగా, ఎంపీగా ప్రజలకు విశేష సేవలందించిన తెలుగుదేశం నేత, సినీ నాటక కళాకారుడు, దర్శకుడు నారమల్లి శివప్రసాద్ గారి వర్ధంతి సందర్భంగా ఘన నివాళులు. ప్రజాసేవ పట్ల ఆయన అంకితభావం, కళారంగంలో ఆయన చేసిన కృషి చిరస్మరణీయం. ఆయన జ్ఞాపకాలు ఎప్పటికీ నా హృదయంలో నిలిచిపోతాయి.

Deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of Payal Mehta, senior journalist, Network18. Payal was a sincere and dedicated journalist who always went the extra mile for a story. She travelled to Andhra Pradesh on several occasions to report from the ground, and whenever we met in Parliament, she would make it a point to reach out and share updates. What I will remember most is her enthusiasm, her commitment to journalism, and the warm smile with which she approached everyone. The Navratna Defence PSU will anchor a modern greenfield shipyard at Dugarajapatnam, with an investment of around ₹15,000 crore over the next 5–7 years and the potential to create nearly 45,000 direct and indirect jobs.
