🚨 GOOD SAMARITAN CHARGED BY DEMOCRATS?! A Massachusetts man who was st*bbed after stepping in to protect an older woman says police now want to charge HIM with as$ault and battery! ⠀ Shane Vautour was riding the Route 22 MBTA bus home from his bartending job Sunday night when an older woman boarded and began greeting the other passengers. ⠀ Vautour says another man started berating her with racist and s*xual remarks. “He started screaming at her, and making racial remarks, s*xual remarks, things that just shouldn’t be said out loud, let alone to an older woman,” he said. ⠀ As Vautour prepared to exit near Humboldt Avenue and Seaver Street in Roxbury, he turned to confront the man about his behavior. ⠀ That is when Vautour says he saw the man staring at the woman with a knife concealed beside his right leg, below the seats and outside her line of sight. ⠀ “I hit him, he st*bbed me immediately,” Vautour said. “When he pulled it out, I immediately grabbed the knife because the first thing we were taught in martial arts is a knife in your hand can’t end up in your body.” ⠀ Vautour says he twisted the knife from the man’s hand, got off the bus and collapsed beside a rock wall. The attack left him with a roughly 3-inch wound to his abdomen, deep cuts to both hands and ligament damage that prevented him from bending two knuckles. ⠀ Another passenger with medical training rushed to help him. Vautour believes that stranger may have saved his life. ⠀ Transit Police located the other man after he ran from the bus and took him into custody. His name and the criminal complaint being sought against him have not been publicly released. ⠀ But after reviewing the bus surveillance footage, investigators told Vautour that they also intend to seek an as$ault and battery complaint against HIM. ⠀ Vautour says the camera was positioned halfway down the bus and could not capture what was happening below seat level. He also says the recording has no audio, meaning it does not document the alleged verbal harassment that preceded the confrontation. ⠀ “They won’t review witness statements, the video has no audio, so they have no way of confirming that he was yelling,” Vautour said. He also questioned why investigators had not spoken with the bus driver, whose information should be readily available. ⠀ Transit Police confirmed that they are seeking criminal complaints against both men but declined to discuss the quality of the surveillance footage. A complaint has not yet resulted in a conviction or finding of guilt against Vautour. ⠀ Police should review every camera angle, witness statement and piece of available evidence before treating the man who left that bus bleeding as the criminal.
