You know it allowed people with Down syndrome to be killed on it right, autism as well, hell being abused & coerced would have allowed it. So which is the sadist again

That’s a blatant lie. Having Down syndrome by itself wouldn’t make someone eligible for assisted dying.

They don’t say that though . A large number of people with down syndrome and other learning difficulties have limited capacity to make such a decision. Nothing was put in place to even acknowledge that let alone deal with it

a key part of assisted dying is that you have to have capacity to be eligible so if they don’t have capacity they instantly can’t access it
2
28
And how do we establish whether someone has capacity or not? You’ve not really looked into this bill , have you. There were no safeguards to protect those with limited capacity

29
the way capacity is assessed doesn’t change for those looking for assisted dying, capacity assessment are a well established part of law already

capacity is a requirement as stated literally everywhere about this bill, the concerns you’re raising are about coercion and people being influenced to make that choice, i’m not saying those aren’t valid concerns it’s just important we actually use the correct terms

I have used the correct terms & used examples given as to the very people who this bill shouldn’t be killing but is. Strange how you haven’t gone looking for all the disabled charities that have said no to this but you went to the one that is bullshiting the whole way through

disabilityrightsuk.org/assis… the concerns of the bill have nothing to do with concerns of those with limited capacity as limited capacity makes you ineligible, the concerns are coercion, feeling like a burden and lack of access to care

You posted something that supports me, did you actually read it, or even realise that disabled anything don’t support the bill because of how it wants to kill disabled people
1
22
you’re arguing it’s about capacity and it’s not even in what i’ve posted not one of the concerns is to do with those with limited capacity, did you actually read it? being coerced or feeling like a burden on others isn’t having limited capacity

to focus on a non existent concern of those with limited capacity will be killed through this bill when it’s far from the truth. the concern is disabled people that do have capacity but don’t have access to care they need

Wow you really are trying to twist what was said & removed to fit your narrative. So your fine with be being killed under this bill, because I can be, just like the lords argued that people who just want to kill themselves can, so suicidal & people who feel like a burden

the main reason the capacity safeguards were rejected is to do with the already existing laws, those would need changing to allow them to introduce it into the AD bill. the issue with assisted dying is the fact that people don’t have access to fully live life to begin with

you do realise that there are already laws surrounding capacity, they can’t say you can’t assume capacity when the law is to assume capacity unless proven otherwise, any doubt about capacity is then referred for assessment.
