I feel like Alex Karp doesn’t get nearly enough credit for how boldly he stood with Israel after October 7. The next day, October 8, Palantir took out a full-page ad in The New York Times: “Palantir stands with Israel.” At a moment when most CEOs were saying as little as possible, Karp chose to make his position unmistakable. And he didn’t stop at words. Palantir sent engineers to Israel, brought its board to Tel Aviv, and continued supporting Israel’s defense. That took conviction. And it paid off! stock is up 1100% in 3 years.

So, the cartel wants to kidnap Feds and cops. That would be a mistake. There’s a bunch of dudes waiting for the chance to do this…
#EXCLUSIVE: The cartel is threatening to kidnap federal agents and officers at the Texas southern border according to an internal alert obtained through DHS sources. The alert says a known “alien smuggler” is planning to smuggle multiple illegal immigrants from Colombia and Venezuela into the United States— “Initial reporting indicates that the purpose of this operation may include attempts to target and kidnap CBP law enforcement personnel within the Presidio and El Paso areas of operation." Via @CBP, “CBP maintains proactive intelligence on all foreign actors that are a threat to the homeland. All relevant information is diligently vetted with appropriate partners to determine validity. The specific tactics, procedures, and methods CBP uses to mitigate these threats and ensure the safety of CBP personnel and equities is robust. CBP does not comment on these methods to ensure the continued safety of our interests and the American Homeland.”

Replying to @MattWalshBlog
Matt, Just like so many I've responded to today on this thread, you argue against me like a collectivist would. You make sweeping generalizations about Boomers that are absurd on their face. "Your generation did this and that, and you're ALL evil selfish bastards" is the upshot. Really? Many of us conservative Republicans have argued for major reforms or even to phase out Social Security. That wasn't politically expedient or popular, but some of us agued for it anyway. For decades! Where were you then, Matt? I don't recall hearing your name mentioned. You weren't involved then, were you? I was. So were millions of Boomers. They were called Republicans (and Libertarians). And when Bush proposed a modest change to the program to invest 3% of funds in the stock market, many of us supported that as an alternative to it sitting around waiting to be spent by politicians. But no, even that was too "extreme" for Democrats. It went down in flames. You were about 15 then, Matt...so you probably don't remember. Bush's proposal would have saved the program in hindsight. DEMOCRATS were for the status quo. Not Republicans. Some lost their seats supporting it. I'm old enough to remember when Newt was Speaker and we had a shot at a balanced budget amendment. I was all for it. DEMOCRATS were not. It failed because of DEMOCRATS! It fell one vote short in the Senate. We fought like hell for that. What were you doing then Matt? That's right. You were only ten. Not your fault. But it wasn't the fault of "Boomers" either. It was Democrats. It was DEMOCRATS, Matt. Not "Boomers". It was policy choices made by DEMOCRATS repeatedly, decade by decade. You should know this. You're a semi-professional historian. It could be your next special. But do you really think that ALL retired Boomers haven't been screaming for cutting spending most of their lives? About half of them have been. I'm one of them. Look up how many times I've criticized my own President for absurd spending levels and having zero concern for debts and deficits. Trump even REMOVED the words "debt" and "deficit" from the party platform in 2024. How is $40T in debt, $2T in deficits, and $1T in interest "America First"? It isn't. So here I am... approaching retirement after 50 years in the workforce. I've tried repeatedly to advocate for reforms or abolition of Social Security and failed because of Democrats. I paid FICA taxes under threat of fines or prison by the government for 50 years (21 of which at the double rate for the self-employed). And now your argument is that I (and ALL Boomers collectively) are selfish and greedy to actually TAKE the benefit that they agreed to pay me in exchange for confiscating my retirement savings? I seem to recall you making an argument that you didn't want to "divide the right" by condemning certain people for their unpopular policy choices. "We need to unite.", you said. But here you are, Matt: Every Republican and conservative born between the years 1945 and 1964 are evil, selfish, greedy bastards who hate their children and grandchildren because they have the gall to collect a check from a program to which they were compelled to contribute their entire lives. I am a big fan of yours, Matt. I support any efforts you would make to alter or abolish Social Security. Go for it. Lead the movement. And good luck getting President Trump on board. But any plan has to be reasonably gradual. You cannot possibly expect middle class retirees to just rip up the checks that they have counted on for 50 years and end the program instantly. Nor can you vilify conservative and Republican Boomers for bad policy choices that they vocally OPPOSED for decades, simply because of their birth year.

France 10 year bond yield = 4.79% Greece 10 year bond yield = 4.43% Nobody who lived through the PIGS debt crisis in the early 2010s would have predicted Greece to be a better credit than France in 2026.

Professional poker player Phil Ivey won $9.6 million at the Borgata. The casino paid him, then sued to get it back. At London’s Crockfords, he won another £7.7 million. They refused to pay. In the video below, Ivey says his job is to play the game, find a weakness in the casino and use it to win. He calls the casino his opponent and points out that it spends millions of dollars protecting its games. He wanted a specific brand of cards, a Cantonese-speaking dealer and the same decks reused. The casinos agreed. His playing partner, Cheung Yin Sun, asked the dealer to rotate certain cards, presenting it as a matter of luck. The cards had tiny differences along their backs. Once high-value cards faced one way and the others faced the opposite way, those differences helped identify what was coming next. Ivey never marked the cards. The dealer handled them. But the casino didn’t understand what those requests were doing to the odds. He called it an advantage. The casinos called it cheating. In 2017, the UK Supreme Court ruled against him: persuading the dealer to arrange the cards crossed the line. The casino had approved his requests while expecting to win. Ivey knew something about its own cards that it didn’t. Was he cheating, or should a casino know its own game before accepting someone’s money?

Good morning. From the FT: "A sharp sell-off in US government bonds is starting to reverberate across corporate America, forcing companies to overhaul their borrowing plans and even raising the spectre of defaults among the most lowly rated businesses." Remember the historical playbook: The most vulnerable sectors get hit first and hardest. Then, if elevated borrowing costs persist, the pressure both migrates up the curve and spreads across the broader economy, domestically and internationally. #economy #markets #bonds #yields @FT

she's saying she drank so much she blacked out and doesnt remember fingering herself to sleep on the flight. we're reaching levels of woman accountability never seen before.
🚨CREEP ALERT🚨 A Maryland bartender allegedly took off her pants and began masturbating on an American Airlines flight when she was flying to Miami. According to a filing, Katy Inzer “remove(d) her pants and began to actively masturbate while making inappropriate sounds." When police confronted Inzer in Florida, they smelled and witnessed, “a strong odor of alcohol beverage and bloodshot eyes." I thought I had it bad, apparently all the creeps fly American Airlines. The U.S. housing market is dying. Soaring construction costs and mortgage rates mean new homes can't be built at price points most Americans can afford to pay. The market won't revive until existing home prices collapse. Until then expect massive job losses in the housing sector.

Far-left Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, the same Democrat who sued ExxonMobil over climate change and once boasted that she stopped gas pipelines from entering the state, is now pleading with the Trump administration to rush federal permits for a natural gas pipeline expansion. Healey sent a letter Thursday to Energy Secretary Chris Wright urging the administration to speed reviews and permits for Enbridge’s Algonquin Reliable Affordable Resilient Enhancement project, known as RARE, according to her office and CommonWealth Beacon. Read the rest of the story, link in the comments.

Contagion risk is back in Europe, but with a twist compared to 14 years ago. Rather than originating in the periphery, the pressure point is France, right at the core: The surge in French yields over recent weeks is weighing on the euro (CNBC chart below), adding to the policy challenges facing the ECB. #economy #markets #euro #eurozone #fx #bonds #yields

France is already paying crisis-era rates to borrow, but the French left’s current reaction to the emerging debt crisis makes it even scarier. Their answers make the reasons for those rates more credible. Left presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon has seriously proposed a sovereign default on the hundreds of billions held by the Banque de France. Relabeling it a freeze or a zero-coupon perpetual does not change the substance, a default on debt the Eurosystem already holds. This would push French yields on new debt from 5% probably well above 10% going forward, and take Italian, Spanish and Belgian sovereign debt yields with them. The rest of the left is a little less theatrical, but not much more useful. They seriously threaten to bring down a government over €54 billion in savings and plan street blockades while the interest bill rises. This would clearly calm the markets. The Socialists, as always, talk about higher taxes in a country with one of the highest tax burdens, and most taxes in the world, already throttling growth and investment. Absolutely no one on that side offers a path that stabilizes the debt ratio by addressing the absurd French pension system and grotesque state spending. Refusal is treated as a program. If it wasn’t so sad to watch, it would be quite funny.
Most people don’t yet grasp what is happening in France. Markets are pricing French sovereign debt as junk, rating agencies will eventually have to follow. This will have two major impacts: 1. Most French banks are already rated at or just below the sovereign, so a move toward junk would likely drag domestically focused lenders with it. Credit to households and firms would slow sharply, hurting the economy and widening the fiscal deficit even further, a vicious cycle. 2. For the ECB, the constraint is legal as well as financial. A fall below investment grade would force sales by ratings-bound investors while making any backstop harder to justify under current rules. The next euro crisis will begin in France. The first, which began in Greece, will feel like a walk in the park compared with what comes next.
