The Bird Dropping Crab Spider (Phrynarachne spp.) is a master of camouflage! 🕷️
This complete resemblant of bird poop goes both ways, to help avoid predation and ATTRACT PREY! 😳
By emitting a foul smell to deter most things from eating it, it also helps attract insects that are drawn by the disgusting odour as an unsuspecting meal! 🪰

They mimic a wasp SO well that I always get nervous seeing them still! 😅
ただの黒いハチに見えるけど、こう見えて蛾（Myrmecopsis sp.）。日本のカノコガに近く、顔と触角はしっかりと蛾のつくりをしている。東南アジアやアフリカの熱帯域と比べて、中南米の昆虫には、完成度の高い擬態例が多いように見受けられる。この地域差の背景には、捕食者による選択圧の強さや性質の違いが関与しているだろうけど、中南米はより「賢い」樹上性の捕食者が多いからではと想像している。
