Reddit moderator 'Archbox' has to pay Nintendo $4.5 million after lawsuit saying the mod ran a Switch piracy forum Nintendo felt like the damages were "nowhere near" $4.5 million, and could've sought more but felt like that amount was "reasonable"

google showing bug hunters that once again, selling exploits to shady individuals or questionable companies is the smarter move bug bounty fellas, do what you need to do so that you can eat good - I won't judge
reported a chrome fullchain (web -> shell) on pixel 10 to google. got a 9.6 cve (cve-2026-87464) and a fix in chrome. now they bend the rules and refuse to pay the fullchain bonus bc one of the vulns in the chain was an unpatched nday. total payout: $2.5k. despite cve + shell :|

STONKS 🤑Little tip for my fellow card and Revolut enjoyers: they've just brought back their offer to gift the Ultra plan at 30% off💸. This means you can gift it to yourself, save around €200, and enjoy all the perks (airport lounges, miles, shopping rewards, card insurance, etc.)✈️💰❤️ If you don't have anyone you trust to send it to you, I can help out

Signal is testing a major privacy feature: You can create a Signal account without a phone number. The new numberless registration uses an Account ID and Account Key, with an optional username. There’s a small catch: it requires a one time fee of around $3 to help prevent spam. The payment isn’t directly linked to your Signal account. Signal says it uses the same zero knowledge proofs as its donation system to ensure there’s no link between the payment and the account. For now, the only payment method is Google Play, which requires Google Play Services. Signal says it plans to add other payment methods in the future. A pretty significant step for privacy, even if the current implementation still has a Google dependency. Would you use Signal without a phone number? community.signalusers.org/t/… #Signal #Privacy #OpenSource #DeGoogle

people are still blaming revolut btw
‼️ BREAKING: We're in contact with the Revolut hacker. According to them, they didn't only take Revolut data, they've also compromised multiple Italian law enforcement departments. They say the operation targeting Revolut ran for six months, and that they used Italian law enforcement systems to send data requests to Revolut. They claim to hold 147 GB taken from the Italian side, including internal docs, calendars and personal material, among it the chat logs of a federal officer arguing with his wife.

okay so apparently KYC hasn't produced meaningful upsides in the finance sector anyone else here that wants to beat the shittiest take I've read all year?
Woke up to all my data leaked by @Revolut. Sharp reminder that KYC hasn’t produced meaningful upside and has put many in harm’s way.

Sparkles perfectly summarizes everything wrong with the CS community with this behaviour and he reinforces the trash behaviour in the community the CS community wants the game to die with this behaviour
i speak for everyone in the counter-strike community: some skin enthusiasts should NOT touch anything related to the core gameplay and stick to their specialty instead bro is showing the vacnet labelling clips publicly because "ehh this system is not gonna work anyway" 🙂

This is the only correct answer, exhibitors are responsible for going a step further to protect their property, especially if extended protection is offered. Get your own security, hire Gamescom Security, get insurance or deal with the damage. Alternative: Higher costs @ Gamescom
We are aware of stolen hardware and take these reports very seriously and understand the frustration of affected exhibitors. Since many requests reached us, we would like to inform about general security regulations at the event: Uniformed guards provide general security across the venue. Individual stand security can be booked separately, and exhibitors are advised to insure equipment against theft. This is noted in the terms and conditions of participation and the technical guidelines. All cases have been reported to us and to the police, and investigations are already underway. We also want to ensure that the reported cases are individual cases, which we are very sorry to read. Because security has one of the highest priorities to us as an event and to see that indie developers are affected makes us very sad. At an event of this size, however, there will always be individuals attempting to take advantage of the situation. Our security measures are designed to minimize such risks as effectively as possible.
Community note
Gamescom's statement calls the thefts "individual cases" and stresses optional extra stand security/insurance, but multiple exhibitors reported laptops stolen overnight from restricted business and indie area booths despite purported 24/7 general security. kotaku.com/indie-dev-rele… dexerto.com/gaming/communi… www1.wdr.de/nrw/koeln/game…
