before now, I witnessed a lot of my seemingly exponential growth in quarters. I can tell you how almost every quarter from 2015 - 2023 went. I went on a sabbatical and got back to work and that changed to every month. now, I feel like I’m new every week (if not everyday). what this means for me is that my competency across my many curiosities and responsibilities have stretched beyond what my current energy management system can manage. please share tips on how you expand your capacity (without breaking down too often) 🤲🏾.
My life is so full. So many things to do, so many places to go, so much love to pour into life.

Everything you do for an hour per day, ask yourself: when I am at the end of my life, will I regret having spent 5 years doing this? Because that's what you'll have done. 1 hour per day is about 6% of your waking life. About 5 years. Half a decade. Use that time intentionally.
You have to understand. Spending 1 hour per day on brainrot is insane. That's about 6% of your waking day. About 5 years of your waking life. Half a decade. On brainrot. Just gone. Zero return. Zero fulfillment. Zero meaning. Zero contribution to the other parts of your life.

a lot of my own personal suffering is what one of my penpals describes as “first world suffering”. even in the face of obvious devastation, my top triggers and worries are not usually more than: - I expect and insist on higher standards for myself and the world in general - I delay or don’t ask at all for help I may need - I overanalyse quality decisions to minimise bad regret and maximise good opportunity they might look good, but these are all time and opportunity wasters. limiting beliefs. I’ve been working on the last one well and getting better. but the first two, I still have work to do.

If you don't make things happen and build the life you want, a life you don't want will be built for you, and it will happen to you.
A surprising amount of adulthood is just finally accepting that no one is coming to impose the structure you need. You either build it, or you drift inside the structures other people built for you.

I know about 5 people from my class of 800 at IITK who’ve done what Peter Thiel recommends here. Not one of those 5 has a single strand of grey on their body or any material reason to be unhappy with their work or how much more or less money they make compared to the rest.
Peter Thiel on how you should think about your future: "What you end up doing when you think of the future as indefinite is you pick a job that you think will look good on your resume, because it will lead to a different job later on. There's even a credentialing version where you go to grad school, you get a consulting job, and you think of it as this branching tree diagram where you never really do something that you want to do. You can think of the future on three horizons. Very short-term is: are you going to be happy, and will you be learning a lot? Medium-term is: how good is it on your resume? And very long-term is: are you working on something important or meaningful? We're in a skewed world where we overweight the medium-term and underweight some combination of the short-term and the long-term. I would recalibrate to focus on the short-term and the long-term, and forget about the medium-term."

I wrote sometime ago that if you are born in the trenches like some of us and you want to BREAK OUT, you cannot afford to be mediocre. I still stand by it. But let me add something I have learnt since then. HARD WORK ALONE WILL NOT SAVE YOU. Yes, I said it. I know extremely hardworking people who have been working hard for 20 years and they are still struggling. Because at some point, you must stop confusing MOVEMENT with PROGRESS. You need STRATEGY. You need to know when to stay, when to move, when to learn, when to ask for help and sometimes when to START AGAIN. Coming from nothing means you may not inherit MONEY, but the bigger disadvantage is that you may not inherit INFORMATION. Nobody tells you which room to enter. Nobody tells you how money works. Nobody tells you that your ability to SPEAK, WRITE, NEGOTIATE and build relationships can open doors your certificate alone cannot open. Sometimes you don't even know the opportunity exists! That is why I said BOOK was my shield. Growing up in Ijegun, I saw enough around me to understand very early that one wrong decision could change the direction of my entire life. "Adija oni marry si Ijegun, koni bimo sibi." People who knew me then heard it repeatedly. It wasn't because I thought I was better than anybody. I simply had a picture in my head of the life I DID NOT WANT. Sometimes CLARITY starts there. Maybe you don't know exactly what you want yet, but do you know what you don't want? Start there. And please, stop being ashamed of being AMBITIOUS. Some of us cannot afford casual ambition. When there is no family wealth waiting for you, no powerful surname opening doors, no inheritance coming, you have to build deliberately. READ. LEARN. ASK QUESTIONS. Find people doing what you want to do and study them. Learn how people with access think and communicate. Improve your vocabulary. Learn how to negotiate. Understand MONEY. Learn a skill people will PAY for. And when you finally enter rooms that once looked impossible from where you started, don't shrink yourself because everybody else appears more polished than you. LISTEN. OBSERVE. LEARN. But SPEAK when you have something to say. You belong in any room your competence has earned you access to. And another thing. Your first breakthrough is not permission to relax. One good salary is not wealth. One successful business month is not financial freedom. One degree is not the end of learning. One connection is not a network. KEEP BUILDING. Find a mentor, but don't become a permanent passenger in somebody else's vehicle. Learn the principles. Follow instructions. Do the work. Then develop enough wisdom to eventually THINK FOR YOURSELF. And SERVE. There is something service teaches you that ambition alone cannot. Finally, PRAY. Pray seriously. Ask Allah for favour. Ask for people who will mention your name in rooms you have never entered. Ask for wisdom to recognise opportunities. Ask for protection from decisions that can destroy years of work. Ask for BARAKAH, because having plenty without peace is another kind of poverty. But after praying, GET UP. Send the application. Read the book. Take the course. Start the business. Make the call. Learn the skill. Save the money. Leave the comfort zone. Prayer is not an excuse for poor preparation. If you were born with fewer advantages, your beginning may explain why the journey is harder. But please don't let it become the reason you stop walking. Some of us are not just trying to "make it." We are trying to change what is NORMAL in our families. And that requires a different level of intentionality. May Allah put BARAKAH in our efforts, connect us with the right people, protect us from costly mistakes and allow our children to start from places we once prayed to reach. I stop here again. Maybe Part 3 someday.
If you are born in the trenches like some of us and you want to break out . You cannot afford to be mediocre You must be laser and hyper focus, You need serious clarity! what kind of success do you need ? Define it, Write it down today Everyone who knows me at Ijegun will tell you "Adija Oni marry si Ijegun, koni bimo sibi" I always say I will never be a victim of teenage pregnancy, it was very rampant around Me. Book was my shield Be prepared to work harder, yes Harder than an average person. Hard work is the currency you pay the rich and elites to join them You will read and wider than the Rich, Be aware that an average rich person is an avid reader BUT you must be prepared to do more so that when your opportunity comes you will be able to NEGOTIATE at their level , Trust me on this, If you can communicate with them , you can mix to a certain extent in their group Find a Mentor in your niche and discipline, listen to Instructions, follow the guidelines and Templates giving to you and be ready to do way more than your mentor, Yes DO IT , and be ready to serve . Serve BE BOLD AnD Audacious , Knowledge will give you the advantage Be Extremely prayerful, Ask for favour , Grace, God's help, Ask that your efforts shall be blessed but Remember that Prayer without commensurate work is nothing May our efforts be blessed , I stop for now

Find audacity. There is nothing that will help you more in this life than audacity. Find it. Let it push you to silence the noise, go back to school, leave the country, start a business, take risks, and fight for your life.

If you don't actively steer your life, comfort and normalcy will make the decisions for you. Mediocrity has a gravity that everyone succumbs to unless they are actively fighting against it day after day.
The longer you delay building the life you actually want, the more likely you are to normalize a weaker substitute. Drift hardens into identity faster than people realize.

Pick a challenge too big for who you are now. That's how people change. A challenge above your level drags the new version of you out. It will suck. You'll fail constantly. You'll feel like a fraud for months. Your old self will beg you to stay the same. But if you can pull this off, 10-20 times throughout your life, you will blow past everyone else.

Be Aggressive about your life. It is the only way to get what you want from it... Nothing comes from the gentle hoping, half-given effort, or the daydreaming of most. You have to know who you are... What you want, pursue & reject Be Aggressive about your life.

I don’t think people get it yet. Your ability to create with Claude will make you a millionaire!💯
Claude Code is so good. If you are a creative who knows how to properly integrate it into your workflow, you will realize that Claude Pro $20/month sub is even cheap. Lowkey, people are using Claude to make a lot of money. The crazy part is that most people still have no idea what this thing can do.

Lots of people use brainrot to postpone existential dread. What they often don't realize is that they are also postponing the actions that would create meaning. If your life feels unfulfilling, no amount of distraction will fix that. You can't fix emptiness with more emptiness.

Say it louder for the people in the back.
Learn to be strict with yourself. Your time. Your resources. Your business. Your discipline. The moment you become mediocre, others will take advantage of you and mess you up. It is better to be called a bully because being afraid to say NO will cost you a lot.
