This example is yet another reason I am an anarchist. Will can’t comprehend that the state sending out their gangs to conduct “operations” is just the same if la cosa nostra sent out their gangs to conduct “operations”. Will is in a religious death cult, don’t be like Will .
I have more contempt for this kind of ridiculous, unprincipled fence-sitting than I do for the straightforward leftist terror apologia that we are seeing.
This isn't a circumstance where an officer created the risky, dangerous environment that led to Renee Good's death, which could potentially justify this "lawful but not moral" fence-sitting. Renee Good did that. She's the one who decided it would be a good use of her day to stalk ICE while they conducted enforcement operations. She's the one who decided to park her car in the middle of the road, blocking traffic. She's the one who decided to taunt the officer when the officer was collecting evidence and circling the vehicle. She's the one who refused to submit to a lawful arrest and decided to flee. And she's the one who was indifferent to both the officer directly in front of her car and the officer hanging on to her driver's side window when she floored it.
Leftists at least have a simple friend/enemy argument: ICE is bad, communist protestors are good, therefore the ICE officer is in the wrong. What Gregg is doing here, and what David French has done elsewhere, is posturing as a principled moderate "in the middle" when his position is completely unprincipled.
Gregg runs an outfit called the "Society for the Rule of Law." Hard to square that with coming to the defense of a person who violated so many laws so flagrantly, while apologizing for hundreds of years of the law of self-defense.
