When I was 12, I wanted to be a marine biologist. Eventually, I realized I couldn’t afford that dream, so I chose a different path.
Today I gave a keynote at @MWBTCSummit on Gen Z, affordability, and bitcoin.
I never planned on caring this much about money. I started caring because I watched the basic things people want out of life become harder and harder for my generation to reach.
Owning a home. Raising a family. Saving for retirement. Having enough breathing room to choose a life based on what you love, not just what you can afford.
That’s ultimately what led me to bitcoin.
Getting to stand on a stage today and talk about all of this felt very full circle.
People should be able to build their lives around what they want to pursue, not what a broken system makes financially possible.

As one of the organizers, this was a very tough call. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who gave us advice and support, offered to speak or sponsor, or otherwise promoted this event. We will take all the lessons and bring in over to 2027!

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Golden Gate Bitcoin Conference.
Ticket sales simply weren’t strong enough to put on the conference we wanted to build.
We also wanted to make this decision early enough to respect everyone’s time and travel plans.
Everyone who purchased a ticket will receive a full refund within 48 hours.
Bear markets are tough. Building a new grassroots conference from scratch is tough too.
We’re going to regroup and revisit the conference in early 2027.
