Sorry for an essay on a shitty SNL joke but this clip is the PERFECT encapsulation of how Establishment Democrats view Zohran’s social media success versus what he actually does on here. Zohran’s entire communication style is always clear and effective while simply adapting it to common vertical video production features (good audio, minimal dead air, moving shots). This is especially true when it comes to serious situations like storms, where he focuses on clear recommendations and updates for the viewer. He also incorporates his genuine personality as well into the videos to make them authentic. This clip, on the other hand, is the complete opposite of that. It assumes Zohran is leaning into a ridiculous TikTok dance trend that doesn’t communicate actual practical information to the audience about flood zones or services the city offers during storms. It could not be further from what Zohran actually does on social media. This is just a one-off bad joke but it honestly isn’t too far off for how many people in power view Zohran’s social media presence. And that’s also why they’ve never been able to replicate it.
like what is this??

I usually like SNL but this is a bad attempt at satire

I miss the old silly-stupid humor the skits used to have, it’s definitely evolved a bit over the years and they swing & miss more often now lol

The point is that this isn’t satirizing anything, it’s just taking “his team utilizes social media well” in some bizarre direction. It’s like if SNL Mamdani had a 10-gallon hat on at all times as if that were something he’s known to wear when in reality he doesn’t wear one ever.
