THE FACE OF THE WNBA.
The league has spent years asking the public to recognize its athletes as premier professionals.
Now we have bodycam footage from an incident involving two of its prominent stars, an arrest, and an officer pointing a Taser at Paige Bueckers.
Arike Ogunbowale's charge was dropped. Paige was attempting to intervene.
The WNBA needs to have a serious conversation about professionalism, leadership, and the public image of women's basketball.
The sport has too much talent and too much potential for the conversation to keep drifting this far away from basketball.

Who thinks the Indiana Fever would be a better basketball team today if somebody had actually listened?
Fire Briann January today.
For someone sold as a defensive specialist, Briann January has the Fever playing defense like an instructional league team.
Players lose sight of the ball.
They turn their backs to the action.
They switch out of convenience.
They rarely deny passing lanes.
They give up rhythm, space, angles, and momentum like defense is optional.
It is disgusting to watch.
Through 16 games, Indiana has already allowed 100+ points six times.
Even worse, the Fever have scored 100+ points three times and still lost.
That is a defensive catastrophe.
If your offense scores 104, 102, and 101 points and you still lose, the problem is not scoring.
It is defensive incompetence.
Coach January has also given fans plenty of reason to believe there is real friction, if not outright disdain, toward Caitlin Clark.
