Time to tell a story... End of last year? Raised issues of patient safety and decisions made without discussing with primary care or those living with #Diabetes Pointed out gaps in service, safety concerns As night follows day? Allegations and complaints made- designed to shut all raising of issues down. Against one of the national leads in #Diabetes Raising issues about what was designed & created by myself. Rolled on to formal investigation. Timeline from start? 8 months Through personal grief- through all things. Without much respite. Yesterday? It ended- due to lack of proof- and no case to answer Which was always the outcome - yet as ever? It's the process that's designed to destroy. Kept smiling - as I know the process well enough now.But heck-it's needed grit -especially since May Am still here. Still battling for better #Diabetes care As I always say? You cannot shut me down. H/T to @TheBMA for support The next phase...is the next phase. For better care of those living with #Diabetes? There is very little I won't do. And I haven't even mentioned the incredible bit about the difference in approach to others who have raised same issues- and coincidentally (of course) white. Am still here. Still here.

A moment today to acknowledge @RCObsGyn for appreciating the life of Anannya Kar. A wonderful tribute from her colleagues in @UHD_NHS and a poignant few moments of silence from all attending Council It was indescribably hard to join in- and be part of this- but somethings must be done. I am grateful for all who understand my desire for her to be remembered as someone who was a wonderful doctor- always working to improve lives- and womens health. Not the 'wife of Partha Kar'- but an incredible woman who do so much for so many. Thank you @AliWrightObGyn from me and my family- it has been much appreciated x

Thank you Allow me to give a view @CMO_England as a senior clinician along with national roles. Using A & G, virtual consults - thatโ€™s a lot of risk we manage day in, day out However- when doctors are being asked to become the risk liability sponge by being given unproven things like AI- or lesser trained staff to be responsible for? The answer- for our own sake, sanity and avoidance of regulatory issues- not to mention ensuring we never forget โ€œDo No Harmโ€? Has to be sometimes No. I will avoid talking about the pandemic & risk management decisions made during that period- and lessons we all subsequently learnt. @bmj_latest @KamranAbbasi
Chris Whitty: Doctors must be trained in managing risk in patient care, CMO says. The BMJ and @acmedsci inaugural joint annual lecture given by Prof. Whitty @CMO_England covered risk, uncertainty, and medical decision-making. Watch the full lecture now: bit.ly/4AxqLBq

More these people have exposure? More the people can see through their divisive narrative Keep spreading the hate Let more people see the toxicity you breed.
BREAKING: Reform UK would win less seats than both Labour and the Conservatives if a general election were to be held today in a dramatic reversal of fortunes for Nigel Farageโ€™s party, a YouGov MRP has found The new large-scale seat by seat MRP by YouGov suggests the UK is currently heading for a hung Parliament with Labour as the largest party with 241 seats The Conservatives would be in second place with 130 seats, better than their result in the 2024 general election, while Reform would be pushed into third place with 123 seats If replicated at the next election the poll suggests that both Robert Jenrick and Suella Braverman, who deserted the Tories to join Farage, would lose their seats to their old party Even if Reform and the Tories could agree a pact they would still not have enough seats to form a majority coalition government However Labour would also struggle to govern having lost 162 of the 403 seats that it holds at present It would have to rely on both the Liberal Democrats, predicted to win 71 seats, and the Greens, on nine, or one of the nationalist parties in order to command a majority in the Commons It marks a stark reversal of Reformโ€™s fortunes compared to a YouGov MRP a year ago: September 2026 Seats Labour: 241 Conservative: 130 Reform UK: 123 Lib Dem: 71 SNP: 40 Plaid: 15 Green: 9 Other: 3 September 2025 Seats Reform UK: 311 Labour: 144 Lib Dem: 78 Conservative: 45 SNP: 37 Green: 7 Plaid: 6 Others: 3 thetimes.com/article/17f7462โ€ฆ

Amidst struggling to find things to smile at nowadays? I did at this Not every day one gets mentioned in the same sentence as @Erling And I will say this again. It has been the greatest privilege of my life to help those living with an unremitting and unforgiving condition like #T1Diabetes And I am grateful for the kindness & love many show to me - which has been incredibly helpful in present times I am also very aware how much of a privilege it is to have such love-which is given very rarely by the community- and as always- very humbled at that. Thank you x ๐Ÿ’™ #gbdoc @BT1DUK @DiabetesUK

โ€œThe fundamental question is whether it's essential to go through medical school and the subsequent years of training to deliver care at doctor level. If the answer is yes, filling rota gaps with advanced practitioners is fundamentally wrong and offers the public lesser care. If the answer is no, medical training needs to reflect this by removing distinctions of specialty training posts between doctors and non-doctors and revising medical school places.โ€ The above basic issue being ducked by Medical Education & Training Review? Is what is symbolic of present NHS and its persistent โ€œreviewsโ€ A disconnect with reality. Via @bmj_latest bmj.com/content/393/bmj-2026โ€ฆ

A few doctors raise safety concerns about some healthcare staff working beyond training, scope & without appropriate regulation. Treated as โ€œminor voiceโ€ and dismissed by others. Others raise it Get told they are โ€œelitistsโ€ All denied by leadership of relevant organisations Gaslights those who raise it Refers them to regulators Royal Colleges mimic ostriches Then the press get involved Media starts highlighting A national review commences Agrees with the initial few who raised concern in the first place Things change Anyone seen this movie before?
๐Ÿšจ EXCL: Patients are being harmed and dying because the NHS is replacing doctors with 'advanced practitioners', medics have warned. GIFT LINK โฌ‡๏ธ telegraph.co.uk/gift/ca90b76โ€ฆ

Itโ€™s worth pointing out to Professor Dada that sedentary lifestyle and unhealthy diet do not in anyway contribute to #T1Diabetes development The reference being made is to #T2Diabetes as an overarching reason Important to make that distinction in a country ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ where government is doing much work to improve #T1Diabetes in children @MoHFW_INDIA Also helps to tackle stigma and judgements made on many in society Thank you @ANI cc @banshisaboo @Jazzsethi95 @AskDrShashank @DrAmbrishMithal @JyotsanaRangee3 @Rekha30554640 @drmohanv ๐Ÿ’™
#WATCH | Delhi | Professor in the Department of Anatomy at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, Dr. (Prof.) Rima Dada says, "Whether it is PCOS, obesity, diabetes, depression, or any other lifestyle disease, there are only three or four primary causes. One is a sedentary lifestyle, sitting in front of the TV or screens all day, not playing, not going for walks, and staying confined indoors. Secondly, we observe that our diets today are very rich in carbohydrates. We are consuming highly processed foods, which we classify as a highly inflammatory diet. We constantly order food at home via food delivery apps; there is no need to even step outside. Consequently, we see a decline in the intake of whole, plant-based foods and home-cooked meals. Instead, people opt for outside food, instant noodles that cook in two minutes, momos, and so on. These contain refined flour, meaning people are consuming excessive amounts of processed flour. It is a carbohydrate-rich diet. This, coupled with other factors like poor sleep, hygiene issues, smoking, and alcohol consumption, has led to a rise in lifestyle diseases. However, there are two crucial causes of Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome: a sedentary lifestyle and an unhealthy diet. A diet high in carbohydrates and inflammatory foods is the primary cause" (22.09)

An absolute and utter waste of money No point in having discussions about productivity When you spend money on hubris of this nature Do better folks. Not to mention no jobs for such folks to go to. Silly on many levels Do. Better.
โš ๏ธ The Welsh Government & HEIW spend ยฃ1.8m a year training Physician Associates, tied into costly contracts with Bangor & Swansea Universities. They're forced to fund places for jobs that donโ€™t exist. A monumental failure in workforce planning & waste of money. @Jeremy_Miles

In times of darkness? The community has stood by me. With love, caring & kindness. And I would like to give something back. Something to focus back on. A volunteer role for something close to my heart - and the heartbreak of @triggersbroom17 and @Beth_Baldwin has always been something which has affected me- as a parent foremost. Thank you @DiabetesUK for the opportunity ๐Ÿ’™ And importantly? She was always proud of my passion and drive to improve #T1Diabetes care Always used to smile when I said โ€œThink I will give it upโ€ and say โ€œNo you wonโ€™t. You shouldnโ€™tโ€ I know she would approve- & somewhere I know she is smiling โค๏ธ Letโ€™s make things better x
