Otto von Bismarck is one of the most impactful people to have shaped the modern world, yet few know anything about him. I genuinely believe he is one of the most important figures for our age. Why? Because of artificial intelligence. Link below:

Uncapping the payroll tax does not make Social Security solvent; it only delays insolvency by ~20-25 years. Meaning that we raise taxes on Millennials now, only for the same insolvency to hit when they start drawing from Social Security. It's not a solution for anything.
Replying to @PatrickHeizer
The solution to this problem is and always has been, remove the income cap on SS taxes. Boom, solvency. I did it.

The average Social Security recipient is paid over 2.5x what they personally contributed. Even if employer contributions are factored, they receive 1.3x more than they contributed. The current benefit structure is massive welfare for retirees. Benefits need to be cut.
Wanting the money back that was stolen from them is apparently thoughtless and selfish. These absolute clowns

Your house should have stacks of books in every room.
We read dozens of books per day to each of our children and I don't know how any involved parent could do less.

Fundamentally the west refuses to engage with the reality of an aging populace with no replacements coming You either accept massive immigration (unacceptable to median voter), raise taxes (unacceptable to the median voter), or cut entitlements (unacceptable to the median voter)
If I understand correctly: -French govt spending is already 57% of GDP -Despite this, students are protesting underfunded schools with poor conditions -They're also in a huge debt crisis -Yet both Melenchon and Le Pen are campaigning on expensive new policies Is France cooked?

Something every farm kid learns young. Whether it's a proper jack stand, wood blocks, or even just a literal stump from a downed tree, something needs to be under whatever is jacked. It's a simple thing that will prevent a one in a million tragedy.

If Social Security was that important to Boomers, then why didn't they fix it at any point in ~40 years they knew it was heading toward insolvency?

The retirement age hasn't been raised in over 40 years. Ask yourself, has life expectancy increased since 1983? Now you're starting to see the problem. Boomers want to make us pay for their decades of delay.
Replying to @PatrickHeizer
They did. Full retirement age has changed multiple times. Yes, this is how our government solved problems.

"I spent my entire life planning for retirement with Social Security." That's really the difference, because as a Millennial, it's a *literal zero* on my personal balance sheet. I'm not planning my life around a government handout. Doesn't matter to me if it's cut entirely.

Usually I agree with you and I’m a staunch Republican but if you take away my Social Security I’m a Democrat for the first time in my life. I spent my entire life planning for retirement with Social Security a major part of it and paid into the systems as a young person so that the older generation could have some support I’ll make a deal with you, pay me back every penny I put into it and every penny my employers put into it on my behalf at 5% interest and you can take away the monthly checks.

Last night, my neighbor died while working underneath his car. He didn’t have jack stands, and the car fell on his chest. I went outside to the sound of his teenage daughters screaming and sobbing. Neighbors were desperately trying to lift the car while I tried to get the younger kids nearby away from what was happening. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but it was too late. It was heartbreaking. One moment, one safety precaution, can make the difference between going back inside to your family and never coming home. Please, if you’re working underneath a vehicle, use properly rated jack stands. Never trust a jack alone. His family’s lives changed forever last night. Please don’t take the risk.

The purpose of these stories isn't to accurately reflect reality, but to expose you to an imaginal Mythos which allows you to craft, develop, and cultivate your own "the One"-ness. There is a reason that this archetype has spanned from The Epic of Gilgamesh to The Matrix.

This is the culture that produced the sword in the stone. It doesn’t matter how much you’ve practiced, how much you’ve trained, how hard you’ve worked. You’re either meant to pull the sword or you aren’t. Neo isn’t “the one” because he studied to be.

No deep cuts here; all have a reputation for great reason. What is interesting is how formative most were, having read as a teenager or young adult. Only one did I first read in my thirties.

Boomers have been able to vote since the 60s. They’ve known social security is going to run out of money since at least the 90s. They should have voted to fix it.

"poor people don't read to their kids!" No one is reading to their kids. Percentage of kids (0-8) being read to daily across the USA by income: $100K+ : 17% $60K-$100K: 13% $35K-$60K: 12% $35K- : 14%

Every year, Kimberly-Clark sells a discount box that is available for purchase by employees and shareholders for ~40% off. If you own any index funds, you're almost certainly a shareholder. Here's this year's box. I'm still waiting for the year that they include Kimwipes.

Agrippa Trilemmas rule everything around me.
We evolved from single cells. Either they are conscious, or at some point along the evolutionary line the lights “switched on” and a pure automaton gave rise to a conscious being, or consciousness does not actually exist. All are mind-bending, but there is no fourth option.
