A Historic Milestone in Public Financial Reforms for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa! Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi @SohailAfridiISF attended the closing ceremony of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Mobilization and Public Resource Management Program (KPRMP) and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Spending Effectively for Enhanced Development (KP-SPEED) in Islamabad. Both flagship reform programs were implemented with the support of the World Bank @WBG_Pakistan The ceremony was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzammil Aslam @MuzzammilAslam3, Finance Secretary Kamran Ahmad Afridi, World Bank Country Director for Pakistan Bolormaa Amgaabazar, senior government officials, development partners, and representatives of various provincial departments. Addressing the ceremony, the Chief Minister described the successful completion of these programs as a landmark achievement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's public financial reform journey. He said the reforms have modernized revenue administration, strengthened public financial management, enhanced development planning, and improved the delivery of essential public services through greater transparency, accountability, and efficiency. Key achievements include: 🔹 Provincial tax and non-tax revenues increased to PKR 150 billion, marking a historic milestone. 🔹 Digital initiatives such as e-Stamping and e-Registration improved transparency, broadened the tax base, and simplified taxpayer services. 🔹 The Financial Management Information System (FMIS) was successfully implemented across 127 Tehsil Municipal Administrations, strengthening financial governance at the local level. 🔹 Significant reforms in the education and health sectors, including direct financing, digital procurement, and improved financial autonomy for frontline institutions. 🔹 More than PKR 5 billion was transferred directly to government primary schools, while additional funding was allocated for essential medicines and improved public service delivery. The Chief Minister reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to building on these reforms and ensuring the transparent, efficient, and responsible utilization of public resources so that every citizen benefits from better education, quality healthcare, and modern public services.
