My God. Amount over $265,545–$1,000,000 now taxed at 55.5%. The minimum amount required to qualify to buy a home in Vancouver is just below that range at $220,000. Those making over $1mm taxed at 57.5%. Wow.
NEW - @Dave_Eby proposes to raise income taxes on top two brackets by 2 percentage points, to generate $1b in extra revenue for BC. • $190,405-$265,545 will go from 16.8% to 18.8% • $265,545-$1m will go from 20.5% to 22.5% • New $1m+ tax at 24.5%

Eby was asked 3xs this week about cancelling the grocery rebate, promised last election. He pointed to the lost revenue from the carbon tax as the reason. But that carbon tax pledge (conditional on the Feds doing the same) was made 17 days before the grocery rebate one. #bcpoli
NEW: NDP leader David Eby in Kelowna announcing affordability measures for groceries. Plan includes a price cap and steps to address shrinkflation. Says could save $700/yr/family. Expect the B.C. Conservatives to point to Eby’s broken grocery rebate from last election. #bcpoli

This from @JasJohalBC makes sense, b/c the vehicle levy, to my knowledge, has been on the table since 2025. It's the only funding source left after carbon tax cancelled and road/mobility pricing ruled out by gov. Asked @Dave_Eby about it in May 2025: biv.com/news/commentary/rob-…
NEW: (1/4) I've learned that prior to the election call, there were ongoing discussions between the province and TransLink on its structural funding problem. On the table: a vehicle levy of $100 to $150 per year, collected at ICBC insurance renewal. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

Wanna talk about that 20 cents, Premier Eby? 8 yrs ago, your NDP predecessor, called it the “13 mystery cents” In fact it was & is now an even more expensive 20 ct carbon tax which your govt & green schemers want to bury - the BCLCFS (low carbon fuel standard Nice try
Since the war in Iran started, refiners have added 20 cents a litre to what British Columbians pay at the pump. No apparent reason why, other than to fatten profits that just doubled. British Columbians can't afford to subsidize big oil like that. My plan gives the BC Utilities Commission the power to put a stop to it.

Is this like the $1,000 you promised to British Columbians the last election? 🤷‍♂️ Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me
My plan cuts 10 cents a litre off the provincial gas tax and gives the BC Utilities Commission the power to stop big oil from gouging you at the pump, so up to 30 cents a litre ends up back in your pocket where it belongs. That's up to $100 a month for a family with two cars.

Two years ago today, David Eby's NDP announced a campaign promise. A $1,000 grocery rebate for every family in British Columbia. Eby won, then Eby broke that promise. How can you trust anything the NDP say this election?

Seeing as the BC NDP is running on its healthcare record, here's a throwback to a 2024 election debate when David Eby said every British Columbian would have a family doctor by the end of 2025.

Very interesting numbers here…..
"Between 2019 and 2023, 4,000 Indian citizens who entered Canada on study permits were charged with 17,929 offences. Yes, China is implementing crippling tariffs on Canada's $5b canola exports. And yes, the same to its $1.1b seafood sector. And yes it may also be interfering in Canada elections, and arming our enemies abroad, and using forced/child labour. BUT. Damn, it builds cheap ferries.

I have not seen a better graphic representation of the cultural divide that exists in this country. The most important voting issue for young people was cost of living & affordable housing. The most important voting issue for boomers was Donald Trump. The least important factor was making Canada a better place to live. Canada is great for boomers. Given the youth vote is trending CPC and the Student Vote just went CPC (I think for the first time ever?) - it may be worth the LPC considering whether or not they want Canada to be great for young people, too.

BREAKING: In September, Mark Carney officially became the Chair of Trudeau's Task Force on Economic Growth. In October, Carney met with the Deputy Director of the People's Bank of China. Just two weeks later, news broke that Brookfield secured a quarter billion dollar loan from the Chinese state-owned bank. Now he owes a hostile foreign regime. And his interests are against Canada’s interests. Why won’t he reveal to Canadians all his conflicts?
