Thirteen years ago today, on 3 October 2013, a boat carrying more than 500 people sank off the coast of Lampedusa. At least 368 people died, and most of them were young Eritreans. They did not die by accident of fate. They fled Isaias Afwerki's endless national service, prisons without trial, and a PFDJ regime that has given our youth no future at home. We in EBRF remember every one of them today. We honor them by organizing for the change that will end this exodus.
