I'll be asking about the idiotic Labour appeal re #CostaBeck today in a Lords' Lib Dem debate on the growing challenges of the effects of climate change on natural ecosystems.

Tough guiding on a @WildTroutTrust Auction Day at Pickering Beck yesterday; low water & the chilly NW breeze killed off the expected Mayfly hatch with just a handful of duns & spinners late in the afternoon. Despite less than perfect conditions Richard managed to land 15 trout!

Pickering beck is very low & clear but fishing v well. Fish rising to Dance flies & the first Mayflies. Use light lines, long leaders with size 18 & smaller flies unless the fish are really taking the big Mayflies. Fishing this afternoon was great. Www.pickeringfishery.co.uk
