I think it would be awesome if every state made it so you had to be either going or speed up to 5 mph(minimum) faster than the vehicle you want to pass in order to pass them on the highway, if someone is doing 5 over it the right lane you have to go 10 over at least or just sit behind them, if you aren't willing or able to go 5 mph faster than them then you are likely not even going to shave any time off getting to your destination thus making the pass irrelevant, also we need to teach people that trying to go around then back into a clogged lane is why the lane is clogged, when there is heavy traffic just pick a lane and ride it out otherwise you are just a detriment to the situation

I feel like all the responses to this that are talking about countries that are relatively similar in size are forgetting that all of those are mostly uninhabitable other than their southern border or their sea border, much like Alaska is, rather than the vast plains of the US that while sparsely populated, are still significantly populated compared to northern Canada or Russia, or the Amazon in Brazil, or the lack of rain that makes half of China and Australia a barren wasteland

I think it's impressive that we have reached the level of pinpoint accuracy that individual civilian casualties are looked on in harsher light today than just carpet bombing cities were in the past, our goes don't have the same accuracy and also rack up mass civilian casualties and even target civilians but we get blamed for that too, sometimes I almost wish we did just flatten our enemies instead of dragging it on and not achieving whatever political goal that ultimately makes the endeavor pointless.
