If you care about property taxes, public safety, a growing county government that should be shrinking, and the future of Utah, you need to vote for every Republican on your ballot in Salt Lake County this November. Maintaining Republican control of the County Council stops the growth of property taxes through a fiscally responsible annual budget. The DA and Sheriff own ~75% of that budget. Imagine funding neccessities over amenities. Democrat control is a blank check to the current County Mayor, DA, and Sheriff who never met a program they didn't like. Forget national politics - local elections this cycle have more impact on the quality of life for you and your family. Don't sit this one out.

Democratic leadership is blocking permitting reform simply to prevent Republicans from getting a win before the midterms. We have cooperated with everything Democrats asked for, yet they walked away & put short-term political efforts ahead of what is best for the country. I find it interesting these LDS women supporting legalized elective abortion up to 24 weeks chose the word “suffragettes” as opposed to “suffragists” in their flyer — there is a clear distinction between the two terms. Suffragist Susan B. Anthony wrote an anti-abortion statement in her diary, and in the weekly newspaper that she and Elizabeth Cady Stanton ran, an anonymously authored article deemed abortion a “horrible crime of child-murder.” Notable LDS Suffragists Emmeline Wells and Zina Young both served as General Relief Society Presidents for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The LDS Church has taken a clear and public moral position in opposition to Idaho’s Prop 1. I support the Church’s position. On the basis of speculation, I believe these famous suffragists would also oppose Prop 1. And perhaps that’s why the term “suffragettes” was used on this flyer.
