Now to find a way of drawing the Z-axis information in my study of Bob Mallary’s ‘Shape3D’ works. Away from my computer for the weekend, and with only a book of graph paper to play in, oblique projection is looking promising.

Encouraged by @marka_eth, I've begun a more careful reconstruction in Blender of Bob Mallary's Shape 104 (1972).
Using Marka's post (see quoted post), my first task has been to analyze the 2D grid: red for gaps, blue for faces parallel to the XY plane, yellow for slopes.
