Our residency is underway. 25 students are going through the in-person phase of our Bitcoin Developer Launchpad, and over these days we’re diving deep into secp, mining, taproot channels, fuzzing, monitoring, Bitcoin Core coding exercises, IPC, Utreexo & SwiftSync, PGP and web of trust, the four generations of Ark design, and Warnet’s Battle of Galen Erso, with sessions led by @edil_medeiros, @plebhash, @pins_btc, @brrrunog, @0xB10C, @danielabrozzoni, Sjors Provoost, @Erik17192799, @jaoNoctus and @stevenroose.
We’re also running PR Review Clubs on Core and BDK with @brrrunog and @_oleonardolima, while participants present 15-minute talks on topics like MuSig2, cluster mempool, silent payments, BIP 324, libbitcoinkernel and mevpool. On top of that, there’s a TABConf-style capture-the-flag challenge by @jaoNoctus and a very challenging multisig signet + p2p + mining exercise by Matthew Zipkin.
We’re sharing two days with @libdesatoshi so both residencies can interact, and we’ll wrap everything up next week at @btcplusplus Exploits Edition, which we’re co-hosting and sponsoring. Looking forward to the results.

I'm deeply passionate about solving challenges. I'm inspired by the puzzles I've worked through, by the clever challenges I've seen @narcelio crack (specially the ones by Mica/Walltime), and by the ones @tidwell creates for @tabconf. Seeing how a well designed challenge can push people to think differently and explore deeper layers motivated me to create another one (the fourth I've designed) for the BDL 2025 cohort.
This one is rooted in LOTR elements: hidden messages, "precious" secrets, deceptive paths, and clues scattered like fragments of an ancient map. Participants must look beyond what is obvious, question what they see, and connect subtle hints embedded in the story and visuals.
They managed to solve it in less than 3 days!
