Academics used to publish papers that were only read in small circles of like minded people, usually 15-20 people would read there papers fully and engage with ideas presented meaningfully.
This model is obviously not sustainable so they’ve moved on to making academics into online micro celebrities to push their ideas to the public. Now your favourite academic is accessible on Twitter and reddit. They’re doing podcasts on YouTube with reddit level atheists like mythvision.
Academics are just as apologetic as anyone else. They have dogmas that they defend wholeheartedly just like anyone else. Yet academia is granted some type of legitimacy over and above anyone else engaging in the marketplace of ideas. Why is this? At this point it’s safe to say everyone is an apologist.
Academics have now entered the the Debate Industrial Complex’s AI thumbnail art. A good example of why academics should stay away from the uncivilized.
