Today I visited the Nuwakot common humanitarian office, set up by @WFP_Nepal to offer a joint operating base for humanitarian organizations responding to the floods. In addition to office space, @WFP and @logcluster is using mobile storage units to receive, store and dispatch food and other relief items for partners. Located in the flood-affected area, this common operating space enables OCHA and WFP to support a more efficient and coordinated response, helping ensure assistance reaches people in need as quickly as possible.

As more people are rescued, there is more hope. But access remains one of the biggest challenges in reaching communities affected by the emergency in Nepal. WFP continues to reach inaccessible areas by helicopter, while delivering as much assistance as possible by road wherever routes allow. At the same time, we are supporting our partners with logistics and access solutions, helping ensure that difficult terrain and damaged infrastructure do not stand in the way of life-saving assistance.
