The Un-Fantasy. People, please, stop waiting on a company to produce something they are incapable of producing. WotC hates the old players, has a disclaimer online for almost 7 years stating that the entire era that D&D was made in was "bad" and that they are not like that, that they are morally superior, have repeatedly attacked its founders, players, designers and customers as racists, etc.. etc.; and then they dangle brand names and setting names in front of faces and everyone gets delirious, hopeful, speculative... They hate you, they look down upon you, they see you as chumps who they can treat with open contempt and then get you crawling and mewling like the swine they actually regard you as by flashing shiny objects that they own. Let them, as my friend James Ward used to say, "Die the death".
Whether this is satire or true is irrelevant. The fact is, the is bland and boring and not what D&D is like to exist in. People aren’t existing with trees growing through their house, pseudo dragons on every corner, random men flying above town, and just being boring staring at each other. It’s stupid “whimsical” fairy world stuff made for fans of the Romantasy…not the adventuring world of D&D.
Nothing about this image would make me want to play the game it represents.

To me, 1e AD&D is Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Not perfect, copied here and there in dabs and in other places swaths. But nothing has brought it all together like AD&D. Other editions are too "clean" for me. AD&D is the edition that mentions drugs, torture parlors in Drow cities, blood magic, has the naked chicks in the books, the demons on the cover, the blood dripping off of swords. It's the one written in High Gygaxian, the one that dares you to take a bite of the Apple and see eternity! AD&D has Tomb of Horrors (the first and best, baby: no "save or take damage!" here - your characters will fucking die if they mess up!), Against the Giants, White Plume Mountain. It's the D&D of Greyhawk (the PROPER Greyhawk, not a generic fantasy setting occasionally and blandly filled in by a revolving door of authors), of assassins' guilds, thieves (NOT rogues) and half-orcs (because, man, Gary told us orcs are fecund and sent us for the Webster's to find out what fecund meant).
It's where the Black Magic is, and will be, forevermore.

One of the hosts of DC’s official podcast is going viral for what he said about Lanterns critics.
Coy Jandreau, who co-hosts DC Studios Showcase: The Official Podcast, went off during a Reel Rejects discussion about the backlash to the finale.
“They can choke on their own tongues, dude.”
Then he went further:
“They’re not worth living and we’re overpopulated.”
Jandreau also called people online “embarrassments to carbon” and said there are “a lot of people that just shouldn’t… be.”
At another point, he joked about whether he would save someone from drowning if he thought they were an idiot.
"Maybe."
The comments came while he and Greg Alba were responding to people attacking Alba over his take on Hal Jordan and the Lanterns finale.
The clip is now spreading across X, with one viral post asking whether an official DC podcast host just said he wants Lanterns trolls dead.
This comes while the Lanterns backlash is still rolling, the show has the lowest Rotten Tomatoes fan score of any James Gunn DC project, and Clayface is already facing boycott calls.
CBN has reached out to HBO Max, DC Studios, and Skydance for comment.
